Hope's Legacy Equestrian Hi, My name is Mikayla DeFlorian, John and Josh Lyons certified horse trainer, and Equissage certifi If we give patience the horse will give patience.

My love for horses started at the young age of two when my dad put me on a horse for the first time and I didn't like it one bit. With much perserverence on dads part I grew to love horses and the grace and forgiveness they bring. After being a horse trainer for the past 5 years I believe horses match the energy we give. If we give stress the horse will give stress. With this understanding I choose to further my knowledge and become a certified ESMT through Equissage.

Rocket donkey appreciation post? Cin has lovingly received the name as rocket donkey. Granted she has had this name for a few years just was never used. Thinking now though it might be used more as well as we can see here since has pretty large ears. Cin the rocket donkey has really stepped up this year as a lesson horse and actually become the horse that kids are finding confidence on in the cantering department. If you know anything about Cins past you know that concept is just 🤯.

How do I even begin to express what this horse means to me? She’s the horse that reignited my hope after my dad passed away. She’s the horse that has helped me rebuild myself countless times. She holds secrets, emotions, and burdens within her. She’s the horse that guided me back to finding love for horses once more. She taught me the importance of simply allowing horses to be horses. She instilled in me patience, perseverance, forgiveness, love, kindness, and most importantly, TRUST. She taught me that while life may be hard, your past may be difficult, but you can still let your light shine. She showed me that it’s okay to let people see you for who you truly are. She gave me hope again and proved that it’s all worth it, even when life becomes challenging and the story is difficult to share. She’s my hope.

Happy official 1 year with the Dino Princess. Technically she joined the family end of march but she officially became mine a year ago today. Lots has happened in the last year. Princess became a Dino (yeah still on that), a lesson horse for many. She’s given some reality checks to a few people. She’s learned and still is learning bitless (as mentioned a time or two). She was a canvas for children and oddly enough seemed to enjoy that. Anywhozen a year with the Dino Princess in the books and hopefully many more to come.

The Dino spikes are still out in full spike-y force. Yeah I’m still weird I know.

Got a chance to jump on the Dino Princess today… then my horse got hijacked by children. Anyways today’s ride was consistent with Dino head mentality but hey we’re still learning (both Dino Princess and myself) the bitless set up so we’re just gonna give some grace and be grateful for a relatively good ride even if the emergency break was needed at some point.

I’ve always wanted my own personal dinosaur but since that isn’t possible we did the next best thing. Shaved Cinderellas mane off gave her a Mohawk and turned her into a Dino. Thus creating my own personal dinosaur. Hehehe Princess was far from enthusiastic about this. I have a feeling her friends are mocking her but it’s fine. It’s called mental therapy for her owner aka me and it was a must so she can just get over it…. Also it’s adorable so why not.
