From Dr. Mandi to my team. 💚

Not just for Vet Tech Week. For every day.

I never thought I would be lucky enough to have a true ride-or-die team.

A team I can count on to watch my back. A team that puts up with my crazy life. A team that cares about the thing that has driven me for all these years, REHAB, almost as fiercely as I do.

I hear people in our industry gripe about staff problems, gossip, drama, and all the headaches of managing a team. And I mostly just sit there and zip my lip. Because I am SO. DAMN. LUCKY.

I get to work every day with people I genuinely enjoy as people.

People who come find me because they have an idea about a case.

Who notice something about a patient and want to talk about it.

Who ask questions, challenge me, teach me things, and advocate for the patients they have come to hold so dear.

You don't just work for Healing Arts. You have taken ownership of what we are building here.

You care about our patients.
You care about our clients.
You care about each other.
And you care about this weird, wonderful little corner of veterinary medicine that we call home.

That means more to me than I probably say often enough.

So yes, we'll celebrate the heck out of you during Vet Tech Week.

But please know that I appreciate you the other 51 weeks, too.

🎓🐾 Cooper is graduating!

…kind of. 😂

Cooper is one of those perpetual students.

There are two medical conditions that Doxies seem particularly talented at collecting: Cushing’s disease and intervertebral disc disease (IVDD).

And since Cooper is an overachiever, naturally he decided to major in both. 🎓📚

So while Cooper has officially completed this round of rehab, our job now is to serve as his guidance counselors and strongly encourage him to choose a more successful career path. Perhaps one with fewer medical specialties. 😂

For post-grad studies, Cooper will continue his underwater treadmill and laser therapy with us, along with exercises at home with his family. The goal is to keep him strong, moving well, and doing as much as possible to support his body for the long haul.

And really, we’re not complaining about having a perpetual student.

The entire Cooper team is an absolute blast! ❤️🐾

Congratulations-ish, Cooper! 🎉🎓

You’ve earned your diploma… but apparently you’re sticking around for grad school.

When you spend your days with CCL tears, IVDD, arthritis, luxating patellas, mystery limps, and dogs who are absolutely NOT sore, thank you very much…you start to notice some patterns. 👀

Ummmm…next question. 😂

Do we each have VERY strong feelings about our answers?
Absolutely.

Do we agree with each other?
Also absolutely not.

But, naturally, we had questions. 🤔

Like…what happens when you ask the REHAB people? 😂

Because after enough years of CCL tears, IVDD, arthritis, luxating patellas, mystery limps, & dogs who are absolutely NOT sore, thank you very much…you develop some opinions.
