Happy Saturday! Our next RVT spotlight goes to our wonderful Sara! 🧡

Sara got her start in Veterinary Medicine 18 years ago working at a small and large animal general practice. She has an extensive background nursing dogs, cats and horses! Sara is skilled in anesthesia, surgical assisting and dentistry. She is our resident "spicy" cat wrangler here at AcutePet. You can always count on her to handle our feisty felines with respect (and no fear!) Sara's passion for vetmed shines along side her readiness to help any member of her team, anytime. She is calm, cool and collected and always prepared for a challenge. 🐾

Sara is a hard worker but also enjoys spending time with her family on her hobby farm. She adores her horses and takes pride in showing them, bringing home many national titles. Sara loves celebrating Halloween and is always ready to watch a good spooky movie 🎃

Everyone wish a Happy Halloween and a Happy Vet Tech Week to Sara!

It's Kyra's turn to take the stage ⭐

Kyra earned not one but TWO degrees to shape her career. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, but she didn't stop there. She also earned her Associate's in Veterinary Technology to become the stellar RVT she was destined to be. Her determination and dedication to her field does not go unnoticed. Kyra is Fear Free level 3 certified, providing a comfortable and safe environment for our patients. She is also our clinic's equipment expert, maintaining all the machinery that allows us to provide quality care to the pet's in our community.

Kyra always steps up to encourage those around her. She takes the time to support our technician students during their clinical skills, even in a busy Urgent Care setting. Everyone give a round of applause for our Kyra! 🫶

Ask anyone who’s brought their pet to see us who made the visit a little easier, and there’s a good chance they’ll mention a vet tech. 🧡 They’re the gentle hands, the reassuring voices, and the quiet heroes who keep care moving for every pet that comes through our doors. This year’s National Veterinary Technician Week theme celebrates the soul of veterinary medicine, and we can’t think of a better description of our technicians.

To every AcutePet vet tech: thank you for the heart you bring to this work, every single day. 🐾 Has a vet tech made a difference for you or your pet? Tell us about them in the comments!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to this year's PetFest! We loved seeing all the adorable fur babies and so many new (and familiar) faces. You guys cleared us out of swag and gave our poloroid camera a run for its money!

Check out some of the cuties we captured. 🐾📸

On World Mental Health Day and every day, a little kindness goes a long way. 🧡 Veterinary teams give so much to pets and their families, through the hard days and the happy ones, and it means a lot when you say thank you or share a happy update. At AcutePet, caring for pets goes hand-in-hand with caring for our team, and every kind word helps brighten a team member’s day. 🐾

There’s something pretty special about spending the day with the future of veterinary medicine. 🧡

We had such a great day at the 2026 Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine Career Expo, talking with students about what a career at AcutePet Urgent Care can look like — from externships to life as a DVM and everything that makes our teams special.

Dr. John Anastasio represented our medical leadership and shared more about externship and DVM opportunities. Annie Gerding, DVM — and proud OSU alum — gave students a firsthand look at life as an AcutePet veterinarian, while Elissa Mohler, our Grove City Practice Manager, spoke to the support, culture and people behind our hospitals.

And THAT is our favorite part of days like this: students getting to hear directly from the people who are living our mission every day.

So many great conversations, so much excitement for what’s ahead, and a lot to be proud of.

Vet-Owned. People-First. And very happy to be a part of the Buckeye veterinary community. 🐾

Mr. Leo is gracing your feeds as our AcutePet cutie of the week! 🧡

Leo came to us with some urinary concerns including straining and hematuria (blood in his urine). Leo was diagnosed with FIC, aka Feline Idiopathic Cystitis. This means that Leo has inflammation of the urinary tract without the presence of bacteria. Cystitis can be brought on by stress, especially for our anxious feline friends! Leo was treated with medications for pain and inflammation and was prescribed a special prescription urinary diet.

Leo was very brave during his time with us. With a little medication and a lot of relaxation, he should be on the mend soon! 😌🐱

Everyone say hello to our AcutePet cutie of the week, Mya! 🧡

Mya visited us for a rear leg limp which we assessed with orthopedic x-rays. She was prescribed supportive medications and plenty of rest. Mya is in the spotlight today for being so incredibly sweet! Just look at those puppy dog eyes!

We hope everyone will send some good vibes to Mya for a speedy recovery and enjoy this beautiful Monday afternoon! 🐾

🎉 Congratulations to Samantha, our Lead Client Care Representative at our Beavercreek location, featured in the North American Association of Veterinary Receptionists NAAVR's September Newsletter!

Her article, "There's No 'Just' About It: Why Investing in Yourself Matters," speaks to anyone who's ever had their job title undersell everything they actually do. Samantha writes about the many roles CSRs juggle — from client education to team support — and shares real, practical ways to protect your energy and set boundaries along the way.

With 16 years of experience in veterinary care, Samantha knows firsthand that CSRs are, in her words, "the heartbeat of the practice." We couldn't agree more. Thank you for representing AcutePet and advocating for CSRs everywhere, Samantha! 🐾

That's exactly what we hoped IVECCS Career Fair attendees felt last night at our booth — welcoming spaces & friendly faces, ready to talk about what it's really like to be part of the AcutePet team.

So many great conversations with talented DVMs, techs, and future teammates. Grateful for every one. 🐾

AcutePet is heading to IVECCS in Savannah, GA — and we're showing up in a big way! 🧡

Members of our executive leadership team will be joined by DVMs and RVTs from nearly every AcutePet location for continuing education, great conversations, and time together outside our hospital walls.

It's a rare chance to bring so much of our growing team together — and an even better one to meet the people who make AcutePet what it is.

Will you be at IVECCS? Look for our team throughout the week, and stop by the Career Fair to say hello:

📍 Booth 207 | Governor's Ballroom C
📅 Monday, September 14
⏰ 3:45–6:45 PM

Stop by, hear where AcutePet is growing, and snap an Instax photo with us. We'd love to help you picture yourself at AcutePet. 🐾

Happy Labor Day from the hardest working (and best flower-smelling) team at AcutePet 🧡

Fun fact: Boxers are officially classified as a working breed. Our team's boxers took that job title very seriously this weekend. Shelby, our HR Director, has two very dedicated employees: Selah clocked in with a measuring tape (very important renovation project, we're told), while Sunny supervised some tractor work. Our Finance Assistant Veronica's family got in on it too. Their boxer Bentley took the day to stop and smell the flowers.

Whatever "working" looks like for you today, we hope it involves good company and maybe a snack. Our teams are here until 4 if you need us, but we hope you don't 🧡

Here's to a fun, relaxing end of summer! 🌞 We'll have abbreviated hours to help our team enjoy it too, with reduced hours on Monday from 10 AM to 4 PM. As always, you can book an appointment online if your pet needs us.

Wishing you and your pets a safe and happy Labor Day holiday! 🧡

Sometimes the best appointments are the ones that start with a happy ending already in progress. 🧡

Meet Toby. He went missing back on 5/24, and for six long weeks, his family never stopped looking and never stopped hoping. Last week, that hope paid off — Toby was found and brought straight to us for a check-up.

He'd lost some weight during his time away, but this sweet boy checked out great otherwise, and he was an absolute champ through his whole visit.

To anyone still searching for a missing pet: don't give up. Toby's homecoming is proof that sometimes the story isn't over yet. 🐾
