A few pictures from Saturday's group class. This was the first group class for many of the dogs who attended. Several of them in this group have a history of dog reactivity. Everyone (dogs and people) did fantastic!

Some dogs will never become dogs that play well with others, but with training and consistency, they can learn to better control their impulses to react inappropriately.

During training sessions, pet owners learn how to interpret the way their dogs communicate and how to respond appropriately.

Aggressive behaviors, whether directed towards people or other animals, are a driving factor for many who reach out to me for training assistance.

Once a training foundation has been established, I believe that attending structured group classes is a fantastic opportunity to desensitize dogs to situations that would have previously overstimulated them and provoked undesirable behaviors.

These classes can benefit all dogs.

If you are interested, please let me know.

Meet Copper. He is a 5 month old mini Golden Doodle here for boarding and training. He has been with me a little over a week now. Copper is a very smart, fun, and energetic pup who loves everyone. He is a real pleasure to be around.

I will be resuming group classes starting in April.

These classes are designed for dogs who have some obedience training such as heeling, basic positions, stay, and recall.

They are a great way to improve confidence, desensitize your dogs, increase their focus and impulse control while in a distracting environment.

If you are interested please send me a private message for additional details.

Thanks

Steve

It’s important to build confidence in our dogs.

Conducting positive training sessions in different environments is a fantastic way to help achieve this objective.

While training, take advantage of what is in your environment and safely push your dogs to do what they normally wouldn’t.

Keep it fun and a little challenging.

Murphy was very reactive towards people when I started working them two months ago. They are making fantastic progress together.

Murphy is 1 1/2 years old and his owners wanted help with his aggressive responses toward strangers. We’ve been working together for about two months. This was his 7th training session.

He is becoming much more relaxed and clear headed around people and in different environments. We still have some work to do, but I am very pleased with his owners efforts and Murphy’s progress because of their commitment.

What a motivated group of hard chargers!
They braved the elements today to do some distraction training with their pups. I’m very proud of them.
