To all the wonderful pet owners who have visited the Chippewa Animal Hospital over the years and pet owners seeking information on current scheduling:
Drs. Cynthia Maro, Annette Anleu and Daniel Jones have appreciated and valued the relationships we have formed and the opportunity to care for your pets in our Chippewa office.
Managing the challenges of staffing during the pandemic has led us to make the difficult decision to permanently close the Chippewa location, in order to adequately serve as many clients as possible.
We have consolidated our staff teams into Ellwood Animal Hospital and Cranberry Holistic Pet Care offices. Please contact us at 724-758-8882 or 724-742-3200 to request an appointment.

Today is Rabies Awareness Day. Remember to keep your pet's up to date on their Rabies vaccines, because Rabies doesn't stop for COVID. Our doctors are not in favor of over vaccinating, but Rabies is a real threat and PA ranks among one of the highest Rabies risk states in the country. Please call us to be certain to get your pet's Rabies vaccine updated.

Dogs usually tolerate zucchini well. However, feeding your dog a large amount of anything can lead to digestive upset, and it is always a good idea to observe your dog any time you offer a new food item.

Large pieces of zucchini can pose a choking hazard for dogs. You can avoid this by chopping zucchini up into small pieces, or steaming it for dogs that have difficulty chewing. Feeding an entire zucchini to a dog is not advisable.

If you plan on feeding your dog zucchini, set aside a few chunks as you prepare your meal. Oils, salts, seasonings, and vegetables, such as garlic and onions, are harmful to dogs, so you should not feed your dog zucchini that has been prepared with any of these ingredients.
