Already having second thoughts while writing this, but I’d like to gague interest in a possible permanent home or lease for a Loretta daughter and her 2026 doe kid. Loretta has only had two doe kids previously and one is here and the other has stayed close and been a pretty phenomenal milker at farms we love and trust.
Wild In Wild G Reba is a yearling FF. She kidded like an absolute boss with a single doe kid this April. She was the easiest FF I have ever had on the stand. She never even lifted a hoof and was running herself to the stand within a couple days. Her one downside was she was so enthusiastic about it that she would start hollering if I wasn’t out there to milk on her timeline. She has a really nice, well attached udder with excellent texture. She milked more than I expected for a lean yearling with a single, though with how chaotic this spring was, I don’t have weights her her. Her female relatives have all been on test and collectively have gotten our herd into Elite status for the first time.
Reba is a bit narrow for my taste but she is in her dam’s image and Loretta has been one of easiest kidders and most productive and consistent does on the milkstand. One of the reasons we have so few kids from her is that she was on extended lactation for her second freshening. She milked for 500+ days and the lowest she tested at was 2.2 # (on OAD obviously).
Patsy is Reba’s kid and she is a stout little thing, much thicker than her dam or granddam. She is in your lap friendly and has been from the get-go. And she is one of the most adventurous, confident kids I've met. Within a couple hours of being born she was trailing after her dam in the trees, hundreds of feet from the barn.
I’d want to retain first right of refusal if they were sold. But would be happy to consider a lease as well.
Both are polled. Even though I’m quite pleased with Patsy’s general appearance so far, she was not an intentional breeding and her sire was also polled. There is research that suggests an increased potential of kids from polled x polled crosses being intersex. If Patsy was infertile, she’d be welcomed back here and any buyer would be given a refund.
