🌍🐢 World Turtle Day🌍🐢

Why it matters:
Turtles and tortoises are among the oldest living species on Earth, but many are threatened by:
Habitat destruction
Illegal pet trade
Pollution (especially plastic waste)
Climate change

How people celebrate:
Learning about turtle species and conservation
Supporting wildlife organizations
Cleaning beaches and waterways
Avoiding products made from turtle shells
Helping turtles safely cross roads (when safe to do so)

Fun fact:
Some turtles can live over 100 years, making them symbols of longevity and resilience in many cultures.

South Carolina is actually one of the best places on the U.S. East Coast to celebrate World Turtle Day—especially during nesting season (May–October)!

Chihuahuas:
• Part-time lap dog 💤
• Full-time alarm system 🚨
• CEO of “Did you hear THAT?!” 👀

They may be tiny, but they will absolutely protect you from the mailman, a leaf, or absolutely nothing at all.
