One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is trying to become their dog’s friend before becoming their dog’s leader.
Your dog doesn’t need someone who is inconsistent. Your dog needs someone they can trust to make good decisions, provide clear direction, and help them feel safe.
When you become a strong leader, your dog becomes more confident, more relaxed, and much more willing to follow your guidance. Leadership isn’t about being harsh or intimidating—it’s about being calm, fair, consistent, and earning your dog’s trust every single day.
Remember… every dog can be trained. It all starts with the person holding the leash.
