This weekend our team traded stethoscopes for paintbrushes and enjoyed a fun team-building outing at Painting with a Twist ! 🎨🐾

Everyone chose a photo of one of their own pets and brought them to life on canvas, with just a little artistic guidance along the way. 😊

Keep an eye out around the clinic... you just might spot a few familiar furry faces hanging on our walls soon! ❤️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Doug gets 4/5 stars !

When I first met Doug, he wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. Looking at him was enough to earn me a chorus of barking and growling. He was genuinely scared of the vet.

So instead of forcing things, we made a plan with his mom: pre-visit anxiety medication, happy visits with lots of treats, and learning the best way to work with Doug.

Fast forward to today... Doug happily comes in looking for snacks, shows off all of his tricks for treats, and lets us perform a full exam, give vaccines, and even draw blood.

Does he still throw in an occasional growl just to keep me on my toes? Yes.

That's why for now he gets 4 stars 😉

In all seriousness, Doug is proof that with patience, teamwork, and a dedicated owner, even the most nervous dogs can learn that the vet isn't so scary. We're so proud of you, Doug! 💛🐾

Thor the Boa constrictor came in for an abscess removal! The whole team took great care of him.

P.S… Getting rid of an abscess on a reptile isn't quite like a cat abcess; their pus is caseous (solid/cheesy), so it doesn't just "drain." It usually requires a vet to physically remove the whole abcess so the area can heal properly!

Puppy and kitten day at Garth Animal Hospital and we loved every minute of it ❤️🐾

We saw lots of new little faces and it was a great reminder that those first puppy and kitten visits are about much more than vaccines.

Early visits help us:
🐾 Monitor growth and development
💉 Start vaccines to protect against serious diseases
🪱 Discuss parasite prevention and deworming
🦷 Talk about dental health and nutrition early on
❤️ Build positive experiences with veterinary visits from a young age

The puppy and kitten stage goes by so fast, but it lays the foundation for a healthy future.

Thank you for trusting us with your newest family members 🥰 Drop a picture of your puppy or kitten below, we would love to see them!
