Abshier-Meuth Animal Hospital was honored to celebrate the retirement of K9 Hero from the Baytown Police Department this week! 🐾

During his 9 years in service, K9 Hero played a vital role in the safe resolution of numerous high risk incidents throughout his career. His work has directly contributed to the apprehension of violent offenders, the recovery of fi****ms, and the disruption of criminal activity. In recognition of his exceptional service, Hero has received multiple awards and honors.

Over the course of more than 700 deployments, including tracking suspects, narcotics detection, and evidence recovery, Hero, alongside his handler Officer Calvert, helped facilitate the arrest of 230 suspects and the apprehension of 50 individuals.

K9 Hero will become the third retired Baytown Police K9 proudly sponsored by For The Big & The Brave- Retired K9 Medical Foundation founded by our lead veterinarian, Dr. Mallory Nailon, which will provide for his medical care during retirement.

We thank K9 Hero for his dedicated service and wish him a well deserved, happy and healthy retirement 🦴🇺🇸💙

We had such a great time at Career Day!

Dr. Nailon and veterinary technician Sydney joined more than 85 other speakers at Goose Creek Memorial High School to share what it’s like to work in the veterinary field.

At Abshier-Meuth Animal Hospital, we’re honored to be part of our community and to have the opportunity to speak with students about this incredibly rewarding profession. We are always excited to inspire the next generation of animal care professionals!

And of course, Sydney’s sweet pup, Zoey, completely stole the show and the hearts of so many students! 🐾

Every day at Abshier-Meuth Animal Hospital, we are reminded how special the bond is between pets and their people. The love they give so freely, the comfort they bring, and the joy they add to our lives is truly unmatched.

We have a visitor today who wandered up in the midst of all the construction on the main roadway! He is a whopping 94 pounds, unaltered male, Lab/Pyrenees mix with a collar that says "Mom says I'm special", and we surely agree! Let us know if this is your pup! 281-784-0448

Abshier-Meuth Animal Hospital would like to congratulate one of our veterinary assistants, Juliann, on beginning her journey into veterinary school! Over the next several years, she will be studying toward becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and we could not be more proud!

For many years, Juliann dedicated her time outside of school to working and training alongside our doctors and staff, gaining hands-on experience and demonstrating an incredible work ethic and passion for animal care. While we were sad to see her go today, we are so proud of all the hard work and determination that led her to this exciting milestone.

We have no doubt that Juliann will excel in veterinary school and become an outstanding addition to the veterinary community. We can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes! ♥️🐾🩺

All of Santa’s reindeer received a clean bill of health and are officially cleared by their veterinarian for takeoff! 🎄🎁

Great news from the North Pole: Santa Claus' reindeer have been officially cleared for their Christmas Eve journey following their annual veterinary checkup by the AVMA.
