Abshier-Meuth Animal Hospital was honored to celebrate the retirement of K9 Hero from the Baytown Police Department this week! 🐾
During his 9 years in service, K9 Hero played a vital role in the safe resolution of numerous high risk incidents throughout his career. His work has directly contributed to the apprehension of violent offenders, the recovery of fi****ms, and the disruption of criminal activity. In recognition of his exceptional service, Hero has received multiple awards and honors.
Over the course of more than 700 deployments, including tracking suspects, narcotics detection, and evidence recovery, Hero, alongside his handler Officer Calvert, helped facilitate the arrest of 230 suspects and the apprehension of 50 individuals.
K9 Hero will become the third retired Baytown Police K9 proudly sponsored by For The Big & The Brave- Retired K9 Medical Foundation founded by our lead veterinarian, Dr. Mallory Nailon, which will provide for his medical care during retirement.
