City of Baytown Animal Services is completely full and desperately needs our community to step up. 💔
Right now there are amazing dogs sitting in kennels waiting and hoping someone notices them before it’s too late. Many of them are stressed, shutting down, or developing kennel behaviors simply because shelter life is overwhelming. That does NOT make them bad dogs. Imagine living day after day surrounded by barking, noise, fear, and uncertainty with no place to truly relax.
Fostering saves lives. Literally.
When a foster opens their home, even temporarily, it frees up a kennel space for another animal in need. It gives a dog a chance to decompress, learn what home life feels like, and finally show their true personality outside the shelter walls. So many dogs who seem anxious or “too much” in the kennel completely transform once they are in a calm environment with love and consistency.
And fostering doesn’t just help the dogs, it can be incredibly rewarding for the humans too. Watching a scared dog learn to trust again, seeing them experience toys, couches, walks, or even simple kindness for the first time… it changes you.
These animals may only be part of our lives for a short time, but to them, you become their whole world.
If you can’t foster or adopt, PLEASE share. Sharing posts helps these animals reach the people who are meant for them. One share could truly save a life.
We cannot keep expecting the shelter and rescues to carry this burden alone. It takes ALL of us working together as a community fostering, adopting, volunteering, networking, donating, spaying/neutering, and simply caring enough to speak up for these animals.
Please consider opening your heart and your home, even if only temporarily. 🐾
