Two of my babies diagnosed with FIP in the same week. First Pooka, then Meatball. Now both of my boys are facing 84 days of treatment, and I’m trying to figure out how to afford the care that could save their lives.
I was going to make a video explaining everything, and I still intend to at some point, but I’m having a really hard time right now.
Many of you know me through Furvana, but this is a personal fundraiser for my own cats, not for the rescue. Both boys were Furvana foster fails who became my family.
I feel like I’m hanging on by a thread. Between everything happening in rescue and now having two of my own babies seriously ill, the emotional toll has been enormous. I’m scared for them, overwhelmed by the bills, and struggling with guilt because I feel like if I hadn’t been bringing fosters into my home, then maybe my boys wouldn’t have contracted coronavirus, which in turn can lead to FIP. Only 5-10% of cats who contract coronavirus get FIP…. The odds of 2 of my own cats getting FIP is SO low, but for some reason, the universe is trying to break me…
In 2022, my Mruczek beat this same disease. His recovery gives me hope, but facing it again with two cats at once has left me feeling overwhelmed and vulnerable.
I’m estimating $6,000 in medication alone, plus regular bloodwork and veterinary visits. My goal is $10,000 to help cover their care. This October, I’ve already put more than $8,000 in veterinary care and medication on my credit card. I can’t manage everything still ahead by myself.
Asking for personal help is hard but I love these boys so much, and I need support to get them (and myself) through this. ❤️🩹
