Been working through my Critter freezer. Random skulls. Critters, Deer tails. Getting ready to get into the c***s, woodchucks n stuff while my last turkey (happens to be mine lol.) Is drying.
This critter for a customer was a first. But I enjoyed this one. A winter phase long Tail weasel. It turned out Beautiful. Tanned up so nice. He wanted it tanned cased . I'm really happy with it.

Got a big 8 point frozen head in today as well. I'm sure there's more of you still waiting to get them out of your freezer and on the wall.

After This Mornings lack of a shooter Turkey, This afternoons Hunt was a Success!!! Woo hoo
Praise the Lord for second chances LOL.
Walked up on three nice Toms. One was the guy I seen the other day. Tried to freehand a quick shot on the one with the scar on its head, beard missing a chunk and long spurs. ( My target Tom from a couple days ago). Got spotted and they got excited just as I was about to shoot
Yup Huge miss. Aghhh...
All three running off moved ahead for a tree to steady against, lost track of which was which. They were already at 60 yards about to cross the two track. lost bead on first was on second just before he passed behind a big tree moved sight to other side of tree Back on him lead ahead of him n fired.
ROLLED THAT TOM !!
WOO HOO. Turned out to be the one I wanted.
OH Mannn. He just had to flop around in the muddy puddle for his grand finale!!

Beautiful Bird Huge Body. Was definitely a scrapper. Love taking the game that have story's to tell.

I asked lil Jimmy what to name the Turkey.. He said "Turkey Meat"

I got a big hug n kiss from him for shooting a Turkey for Him : D

Good morning Michigan opening day Turkey season.

Broke my Opening day tradition 😔
Past several years. I've tagged out first thing opening day.

Rain stopped just as I got out there 60 degrees nice sit.
7:50 my opening day heart pounding when I got my first answer. Three Gobblers came out into the open headed right for me.. one Jake two Jake three Jake's a coming. Ughh. Was hoping for the big guys. They walked right by me and my set up didn't pay the decoys a thought.
Watched them head off almost out of site. That won't do I called them right back to me. ;). Toyed with them a little as they were gobbling their lungs out right in front of me lol.

I Just went quiet and watched them wander off.

2 hrs later pouring rain.

Perhaps I will have better luck this afternoon ;)

Just had a visit from my new target Tom. First two had mega long spurs joined by three Jake's.

Two more days :D. Gobble Time ;)
