A day in the life of a prehistoric zookeeper… or at least, what we imagine it would look like!

Feeding the brachiosaurus? A little out of reach.

Taking keeper notes? Best done from a safe distance.

T. rex wellness check? Teeth looking… really sharp. 👀

But seriously, fossils can tell us a lot about the animals that came before us—and by looking into the past, scientists can learn more about the animals we care for today. 🦴🔎

Our dinosaurs may not be real, but they sure know how to make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Come see Zoorasic Park at Binder Park Zoo and experience a little prehistoric adventure of your own!

🦒✨ Throwback Thursday! ✨🦒

Before there were giraffe feedings, Wild Africa, the Conservation Carousel, or the many memories made throughout the park, there was a dream to bring a children’s zoo to Battle Creek.

That dream began in the late 1960s with members of the Battle Creek Jaycees, Jaycees Auxiliary, and Battle Creek Kiwanis Club. After years of fundraising, planning, and community support, Binder Park Zoo opened its doors to its first guests on May 28, 1977!

Since then, Binder Park Zoo has continued to grow—with new habitats, animals, programs, and experiences bringing generations of families closer to wildlife and conservation.
