Jovie is ready to hit the trail!

And she is here to introduce September’s frozen Kong flavor, which is Trail Mix.

Our Trail Mix is made up of an assortment of dog treats and a wee bit of peanut butter.

If your dog attends day care and you’d like them to get a treat during quiet time, just let us know and we will make it happen for just $5.

We will have this recipe available the entire month of September.

The daycare dogs have an absolute blast at Dog Zone!

Here are some fun pictures we took over the last few weeks.

Puppies who come to us young do the best in daycare, as they grow up with us and Dog Zone becomes their home away from home.

The added bonus? We can help you with training for your puppy, which will set you up for success.

80+% of the dogs who come to us for daycare have also completed training with us.

We have a few daycare spots available on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

We are currently scheduling training into October.

Roxie, Reggie, Storm and Hank are all learning lots in training with us at Dog Zone.

In this picture they are practicing their settles.

We spend a lot of time with the training dogs teaching them how to ‘just be’. We want them to learn how to ‘just be’ with their people without demanding attention incessantly.

Knowing that our work is making a positive difference in the lives of our clients and their dogs is what motivates us to keep showing up and doing the work every day.

It is incredibly satisfying to be able to give our clients the tools they need to manage their dogs’ behaviors.

Jenny completed 4 weeks of training with us and her owners recently said, “We cannot say enough for the training our almost 7 month old Jenny received at Dog Zone this past month. She is a high energy puppy! Our lives and hers have changed and we are no longer exhausted or frustrated. We are now enjoying her more than ever!”

A huge thank you to Claire and Jim for trusting us to get the job done for them with their very energetic Gordon Setter pup. It was our privilege at Dog Zone to guide you into a better relationship with Jenny.

Jovie went to the vet with Kelly to get her second round of puppy shots.

Jovie did a great job and everyone at the vet’s office got their puppy fix.

At Dog Zone we like to get puppies out and about, so they can learn how to behave in all kinds of new environments, as that is a very important life skill.

Monday was Buford’s first day at Dog Zone.

Buford is a Basset Hound puppy and he became fast friends with Benny the Pomeranian puppy.

Day care is a great opportunity for dogs to play with each other, but it is not a great vehicle for socialization, as that is a more complex issue. Proper socialization starts when a puppy is young and most often requires training.

We find that the dogs who do best in daycare are the dogs who come to us as young puppies and grow up in our environment. The added bonus is that more than 90% of the puppies who come to us for daycare also complete training with us. Our training sets our clients and their dogs up for success.

Dogs need multiple outlets for their energy and day care can not be their sole outlet. We encourage our clients to provide their dogs with plenty of physical exercise, as well as mental stimulation, and once those 2 things have been provided to a dog then day care can be a nice addition.

Benny has completed puppy training with us and Buford will be training with us in September.
