Ever wonder why almost every tortie you meet is a girl? 🐾😺 It all comes down to genetics! The X chromosome carries the genes for orange and black coat colors. Since females have two X chromosomes (XX), they can carry both colors at once to get that gorgeous tortie mix - just like my cuddle bug Parker!

Male torties are super rare—only about 1 in every 3,000! 🧬🦄

💙 WHAT A WAY TO END THE 2026 BLU DOOR CRAFT SHOW SEASON! 💙

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to our amazing makers & vendors, food trucks, loyal customers, new faces, and everyone who shared our posts, spread the word, showed up, and cheered us on this season. From our families and friends to our neighbors and fellow small businesses, we couldn’t do this without you!

Between 50+ Blu Door makers, our new Youth Collective Corner, 10 events, coordinating vendors and food trucks, and keeping up with life as a mom of two very busy kids, a wife, and a small business owner… it’s been one BUSY year! Not every event was a home run, and that’s okay. We tried new things, learned a lot, and gave it our all. We’re proud of what we’ve built!

We’re also grateful for the opportunity to give back to Trinity Neighborhood Center, Calhoun County Animal Center, and the Michael Miller Memorial Foundation. Being part of this community means more than shopping small. It means showing up for one another.

A huge thank-you to our neighbors for putting up with our shenanigans and crowded streets all season long! We appreciate you more than you know.

I absolutely love what I do, and I’m already dreaming about what 2027 might bring! But first, we’ve got a busy holiday season ahead, and we’re excited to finish out 2026 strong! If you have ideas or suggestions for 2027, please them our way! Our inbox is always open.

Saturday we're headedb back to Charlotte for Woofstock 🐶🐾 We'll have fall and Halloween bandanas and scrunchies, grandma will have her pet jackets out 🛍🛍 Not only will we be there 😜 but there will be other vendors, low cost vaccines, activities, raffles, music, and more! Come out to help raise funds to open an Eaton County Animal Shelter!!

The Michael Miller Memorial Foundation will be here with their own booth, items available for purchase, and information about the incredible work they do. You can shop, make a donation, learn more about their mission, and help us raise awareness and support research for pediatric brain cancer.
