We traveled to Greensburg, KY for the Mallard Run Kennels SRS event this past weekend. Phil Heye has an absolutely gorgeous property that he allowed us to run on....A big thanks to Jimmy Rodgers and his whole crew who worked through some very difficult weather conditions....heat, rain, more rain, and way more heat....Did I mention it was hot???

Our judges John Broucek and David Gnewikow along with our SRS Marshall Matt Emerson set up some of the most challenging tests I've seen at an SRS.

We were extremely fortunate to finish with 3 of the top 6 placements!!!

1st place...New SRSC Down Da Bayou Paint Da Corners, MH QA2 "Cutter"...Owned by Ron Anderson

3rd Place..New SRSC 8XGRHRCH Down Da Bayou's Designated Hitter, MNH..."Poppi"...Owned by Mark Polkey

4th Place...6XGRHRCH Seaside's Cruising the Coast, MNH.."Harley"....Owned by Chuck Leblanc...

This gave littermates Cutter and Poppi both thir SRSC titles!!!!!

Harley now has 34 points and still looking for that elusive win!!!

A huge thank you, as well, to my good friend Scott Arceneaux who traveled with me to Kentucky...Scott's dog Coach made the finals again but wasn't quite able to get into the top 6!!! His time is coming!!

We traveled to Belden, MS to Maple Ridge Kennels for their SRS event this week. A big thank you to Tyler Patterson for opening up his beautiful grounds for this event. Tyler and Eric Teson set up some challenging scenarios that tested our dogs to the limit. A thanks also to Matt Emerson who always keeps these events rolling!!

We were fortunate to make the finals with Krewe who is owned by Parker Kilgore of Baton Rouge. Krewe ran 3 really nice series before the enroute remote quint remote send blind Bubba gunner pick up one and then pick up the other 4 got the best of this 3 year old!! It was really a great test!! We managed to finish and pick up a 6th place ..

I'd also like to thank Hal Jennings Jr. for his hospitality this weekend...Nothing like being spoiled with great training and airing grounds, great food, and a beautiful place to stay. Thanks also to Dr. Daniel Boyd for his generosity..You have an absolutely beautiful place....Second to none!!!!!

Next week we head to Greensburg KY for Mallard Run SRS!!!

The 2026 HRC Spring Grand is in the books!! Huge thank you to Tracy Stubbs and the entire Grand Committee or another very well run Grand. We had great grounds, with challenging weather conditions and some super tough tests!! Kudos to the Judges for challenging tests to the Grand standard.

Mark and I took 21 dogs to this Grand and came away with the following passes:

GRHRCH(8) Poppi MNH owned and handled by Mark Polkey got her 8th pass as a 6 year old!!

GRHRCH(6) Harley MNH owned by Chuck Leblanc got her 6th Grand Pass.

GRHRCH Weezie, MH QA2 Owned by Hal Jennings got her 3rd Grand Pass.

GRHRCH Gator MH owned by David Lowrance got his 3rd Grand Pass.

GRHRCH Jewel, MH owned by Bob Nicholson got her 2nd Grand pass and became Team Chumac's 73rd Grand Champion!!

HRCH Journey, MH owned by Josh Chambless got his 1st Grand Pass.

HRCH Krewe, MH owned by Parker Kilgore got her 1st Grand pass.

HRCH Blue owned by Steve McCain got his 1st Grand pass.

HRCH B***y, MH owned and handled by Mark Polkey got her 1st Grand Pass as a 2 year old.

Congrats to all of our owners on a successful run at the Grand!!!!

A big shout-out to Feliciana Retriever Club and all their hard working members on a very well run D/Q this weekend.. Also thank you to the Anderson family for generously allowing the use of their beautiful farm...and finally the Qualifying judges Jeff Gruber and Andrew Prevost for setting up quality tests and finishing a 43 dog qualifying in 1 day!!!

Our training group was fortunate to get the Qualifying win for Mark Polkey's youngster Kya..Down Da Bayou's Wheredacrawfish Sing..

Kya never had a misstep all day....I was very honored to stand beside her. Enjoy that QAA Mark!!!!

Junior, owned by Chris Bourgeois had a very nice day and got the Reserve Jam..

Sable, owned by David Brewerton and a littermate to Kya got a Jam in her 1st Qual.

Babe, owned by Blayne Kiff got a Jam as well running a nice Qual.

Our training group was well represented with Scott Arceneaux and Tru getting a Jam in Tru's 1st Qual...and David G. Lowrance stepped from the hunt test to the field trial world and got a Jam in his 1st Qual with Alli.

And a huge Congrats as well to Stefanie Stoll and Fuller on a Derby Jam in her 1st competitive event..

And a special thank you to my good friend Ron Anderson, who along with Scott keep pushing me to make our dogs better!!!

We started out the SRS season at Pontchartrain HRC's Inaugural event...Wow...beautiful grounds, great tests, fair judging, and extremely cold temps!!!!

We were fortunate to get a 2nd place finish for GRHRCHx5 Harley, MNH. This gives Harley 27 SRS points and just needs the win for her title.She now goes on maternity leave since she is bred and will be having pups in a few weeks...

Congrats Chuck Leblanc and Harley!!!

Also a huge congratulations to David Lowrance and Alli on her 4th place finish in the Am.

CYPRESS is No LONGER UP FOR DISCUSSION!!

Cypress is a 2.5 yo Black Lab Female....She is started level...Steady and Force fetched and has been hunted. Clean and quiet in a kennel or crate....

Cypress is extremely well bred....NFC Floyd x MH Ali Dam....

She has not been with us for formal training but due to owners health issues he is forced to sell. I have had her for 2 weeks and she is a really nice started dog.

Harley just passed her 5th Grand and her 3rd Master National this Fall. Harley has 22 SRS points (Just looking for a Win). Harley is FC AFC Clooney x Candy QA2.

Planned breeding to take place before the end of the year with pups due around March 1, 2026.

We wrapped up a great week in Giddings, TX at the Master National!! Challenging tests, fair judging, lots of camaraderie with a great group of handlers....Special thanks to some of the hardest workers; Jeff Bundy, Jim and Nancy Bauer, and Derek Randle ....also thanks to our judges Laura Judd and Mike Couture...What a great week. We walked away passing 9 of 11 dogs including:
