Congrats to my newest group of graduates from Diamond in the Ruff Dog Obedience Training!! What a fun group of dogs and owners to work with. I just love seeing the progress the dogs made each week. I'm proud of all the work the owners put into teaching their dogs commands - but also learning the importance of becoming their Pack Leader!! Dogs crave an Alpha dog who provides direction and order within their pack (family), so a big part of my job is teaching the owners exactly how to do that. It's so evident that they are becoming the Pack Leader when the dog becomes a happy, obedient pet. I'm so very proud of you for doing that for your dog!!

Calling All Dog Owners: I have a new class starting Thursday, September 10th from 6:45 - 8:00 p.m. If you would like more info or to register for this class, please go to my website at: diamondintheruffbr.com and fill out your contact information. I'll email you as soon as I receive it.

These classes are taught at the La State Archives (off of Essen, near I -12). It's a 5 week course, meets one night a week, and the cost is $225 for the entire course. I also offer a lifetime guarantee on my group classes, so if you miss a class or just want to come back as a refresher, you can - for the life of the dog!!

Just a reminder that fireworks are illegal in EBR parish. Nothing wrong with wanting to shoot fireworks for the 4th, but please do so outside of the parish in areas where it’s permitted!

Hey All: Well, I had to take off for 6 months due to having two surgeries and subsequent recoveries, but I am back training again!! I can't tell you how much I missed working with you and your pets. Thank you for the outpouring of love, concern, cards, emails, FB messages and especially your prayers! It meant the world to me!!

It's very hot outside so be sure to keep your pets inside, especially during the daytime. Remember to walk them either early morning or late evening - and keep them on the grass when you're walking! The concrete and asphalt is entirely too hot for them to be on during our summer months (May - Sept). We need to always keep our fur babies safe!!

WooooHoooo!! Look at this awesome group of dogs and owners from Diamond in the Ruff Dog Obedience Training. I'm sooooo proud of them! These owners were super committed to learning how to become their dog's Pack Leader....so their pup could have the best life ever. It's such a beautiful thing to see dogs that start of hyper, shy, aggressive, disobedient, etc - become calmer, balanced, obedient and more trusting of their owners as the weeks go by. A dog cannot trust someone they don't feel is in control of all situations, and have their "back". I love when an owner understands the importance of becoming the Protector and Leader of the Pack, so the dog doesn't have to do it themselves. Thanks everyone for a job well done!!! Congrats!!!

What a FUN group of dogs and owners that graduated last night from Diamond in the Ruff Dog Obedience Training!! Congrats to ALL of you!! They did a wonderful job training their dogs and I loved how well the dogs bonded with each other during Socialization! It was truly a joy to watch them interacting with each other. I'm so very proud of each and everyone of you. You put in the time and effort to train your pooches and it showed.
