“My cat has short hair. They don’t need grooming.”
Well… about that. 👀
Short-haired cats may not need the same type of haircut or maintenance as a long-haired cat, but they absolutely still benefit from regular grooming. Just look at this guy and the pile of hair that came off of him! 😂
Regular brushing can help:
🐾 Reduce shedding by removing loose, dead coat before it ends up all over your house.
🐾 Reduce hairballs by removing loose hair before your cat can swallow it while grooming themselves.
🐾 Keep the skin and coat healthier by distributing natural oils and removing excess dead coat and dander.
🐾 Prevent matting and impacted undercoat. Yes, even short-haired cats can develop areas of packed coat, especially cats with dense coats.
🐾 Improve coat quality by removing old, dead hair and allowing the healthy coat underneath to come through.
🐾 Give you a chance to notice changes like lumps, scabs, parasites, dry skin, or other abnormalities that can be harder to spot under a thick coat.
🐾 Make your cat more comfortable, especially during heavy seasonal shedding.
And perhaps most importantly… your cat doesn't have to be fluffy to have a LOT of hair. 😂
Regular grooming isn't just about making a pet look pretty. It's part of keeping their skin, coat, and overall comfort in good shape.
Short hair ≠ no grooming! 🐈⬛🩷
