Some of you close to us have noticed a new face around the KG Poodle Haus. ❤️
This handsome brown boy is Duke, and we are so happy to finally welcome him home!

Duke has been thoughtfully chosen as part of the future of KG Poodle Haus. Bringing a new dog into our family and program is never an impulsive decision. We put a lot of love, extreme thought, and planning into the life and future we could provide for Duke. On top of watching this boy from afar, we made a special connection to his previous owner and bonded over many things including the “magic” that dogs are.
He’s settling in beautifully, getting to know his new pack, and already making himself right at home.

After everything our family has been through recently, welcoming Duke feels like a little bit of happiness in a difficult season. And while he could never replace what we’ve lost, he’s a beautiful reminder that there is still so much love, life, and legacy ahead. We are reminded daily that we get to choose the future we create and are truly blessed to have each other. Welcome home, Duke.

Hard days.

This may be the most personal piece of my life I share on social media, but through this I hope it conveys just how much love can be shared between dog and human.

I lost my dad recently. Even typing this out hurts. There are moments when the grief feels so heavy that I don’t even know what to do with it. But through it all, my babies have been right there. They’ve stayed beside me when I cried, followed me room to room when I couldn’t stand being alone, laid their heads on my lap and let me hold them and hold them as much as I have needed to. They know I’m hurting but have never once left me to hurt alone.

One of my favorite ideas my dad and I shared was that we both believed that dogs are magic. There is something incredibly special about a dog’s ability to just be there. No questions, no expectations, just unconditional love. Maybe we all need to be more like dogs.

My love for my three poodles, Ruby, Braggi and Arwen can only grow. They’ve shown it can, just when I thought I loved them so much already. I’ll forever be grateful for the bond we have and I am a better person for it. Sometimes, the ones who help us through the hardest days don’t say a single word.

Over the moon excited to see one of Ruby’s pups train as a bird dog! This was his first practice with an actual pigeon and I think he did amazing! Way to go Murphy!!!!

Miss Pippin has been frolicking in the meadows and the bogs like she was made to do. She and her big fur brother, Rooster are making adventures everyday with their amazing owners. My favorite updates are when I get to see these pups enjoy the elements and the shenanigans they get up to. We are beyond grateful to have found such wonderful people to share a piece of our lives with. ♥️🧙‍♂️
