21 years ago, Hurricane Katrina forever changed countless lives, including the lives of more than 250,000 companion animals and many were never reunited with their families.
One of those dogs was Fat Sam. 🤎

Our inspiration.
The reason behind it all.
We met Sam at our vet’s office, freshly arrived from an overcrowded shelter in New Orleans. Nervous but hopeful, he stood at the back of a line of crates, quietly waiting.
We noticed him.
And we never let go. 🐾
Sam spent 15 beautiful years with our family. He was gentle, loyal, goofy, loving, and the very best kind of best friend.
As he grew older, we discovered natural wellness products that helped support his comfort and quality of life. And somewhere along the way, Sam became our official taste tester, patiently waiting by the oven for the first batches of treats that would eventually become Fat Sam’s for Pets.
What started with one rescue dog became a mission to help other pets and the families who love them.
Today, we honor Fat Sam, every rescue who has found a home, every animal still waiting for one, and every person who chooses to open their heart to a pet in need.
Because if you’ve ever been rescued by a dog, you understand. 🤎🐾
