Hey local farmer friends. Wonder what we have been up to? Even though we are not farming just can't seem to shake the local food bug. So I decided to interview other people involved in the local food movement. The first episode is with Jamey B5 Farm Many years ago we used to have booths next to one another. So when I decided to start this project there was no one else I'd rather talk to first.

In this episode, we visit with Mr. Gage of B5 Farm in Lockhart Texas. He discusses the joys and sorrows of running your own farm, where he thinks the future ...

Hello, I know it has been quite some time since I posted on here so I have no idea if this will even reach anyone. Like all journeys in life, the transition from being a full-time farmer to not has had its ups and downs. It has been a very big change for the whole family, esp. the kids as they had spent almost their whole lives there. But, challenges and learning how to deal with them is a huge part of this trip called life. So, I won't go on and on but everyone is doing well, adjusting to our new roles in life and looking forward to some cooler temps. I am posting today to share what my new project is. I started a video production company called Stir The Pot Productions. The focus is on food. Locally owned restaurants, packaged food, and beverages that are made in Austin. Our local food community is pretty amazing in Austin. Everyone from the farmers, ranchers to breweries and distilleries. There is so much passion and pride put in by so many different people and I want to help share those stories with more people. It was my honor over my farming career to get to work with so many amazing chefs and see first hand their passion and commitment to using local products whenever possible. The website is www.StirThePotProductions.com as well as social media accounts if you would like to follow along on our next adventure. https://www.facebook.com/Stir-the-Pot-Productions and Instagram @ https://www.instagram.com/stirthepotproductions/ Thanks for all the amazing memories and experiences, it was truly our pleasure to grow food for you. Signing off from Phoenix Farms. Regards, Nathan Heath

Happy new year. Was your New Years resolution to start farming this year? Well here is your chance. All the hard and costly work has been done. Has been our full time income for almost 10 years but selling due to some health reasons. Private, quiet and has private water well. Austin is an amazing city which supports local farmers and producers, all you have to do is grow it. I am willing to do consulting or training if needed.

I know I have not posted much on Facebook in a long time, I've just been so busy with the farm but I needed to share this. My buddy Shannon and his family are battling cancer. He is a great friend, always there to help someone out if they need a hand, an ear to bend or just someone to float down the river with (yes Shannon I still remember the float where we turned to lobsters) He needs our help right now. He works as a deep sea welder and when he can't work, he doesn't make any money but sadly bills don't seem to care. Please share, donate whatever you can. If you know him, you know of his great personality which just seems to lift people up. You would also know he is not the kind of person to ask for help unless he was in a really bad spot. I don't consider it a donation, I consider it paying him back for all the positive energy he has spread through the world. Let's lift them up in this trying time and let them know we support them, even if you don't know them. Let today be the day where you're compassionate to a complete stranger simply because they need your help. Thank you for your time.

Hello Friends and Family, Shannon turned 42 in January, surrounded by loved ones on his property in Texas. Recently he was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer stage 2C/3 spreading throughout his body and near his heart. The cancer has been noted as aggresive with a treatment plan to begin on May 14...

The moment when you have tried, tried again and tried one more time and something didn't work but that little voice in the back of your mind says to try one more time. That final time it works. Reminds me to never give up, keep pushing and even if the odds look against you, keep going, keep going harder. In the end, it's the actions you take during the journey that matter the most not where you end up.
