Cats are naturally skilled at masking discomfort, which means common conditions like kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, dental disease, and diabetes can develop gradually and go unnoticed.

Being aware of a few key signs, changes in thirst, appetite, weight, or energy, can make a meaningful difference in catching these conditions early, when they're most manageable.

Routine wellness visits remain one of the best ways to stay ahead of your cat's health, even when everything seems fine on the surface.

Senior cats may slow down, but subtle changes can tell us a lot about their health. 🐱💙

As cats age, wellness exams may include kidney and thyroid screening, monitoring for often-overlooked signs of arthritis, and tracking weight changes. Regular senior exams can help uncover concerns early and guide care as their needs change.

An annual exam is more than just a checkup. 🐶

During your dog’s wellness visit, our team may assess weight, heart and lung health, teeth and gums, joints and mobility, and recommend bloodwork based on age and risk factors.

This National Pet Wellness Month, schedule an exam to support early detection and lifelong preventive care.

🍂 Fall views are better from a safe window.

Even indoor-only cats can leap, climb, or push against a screen when something outside catches their attention, and standard insect screens aren’t always strong enough to hold them.

Help keep your cat safely inside:

🐾 Use securely fitted, pet-resistant screens or window guards
🐾 Check screens regularly for tears, loose frames, and gaps
🐾 Limit how far unscreened windows can open
🐾 Take extra precautions in apartments and high-rise homes

A secure window lets your cat enjoy the view and gives you greater peace of mind. 🐈

Fall means more wildlife activity and more chances for unexpected encounters. 🦨🦌 Keep your dog leashed, calmly create distance, and avoid letting them chase wildlife. If your pet has been sprayed, bitten, or injured, contact us.

Choosing the right leash can make walks safer and more enjoyable for both you and your dog. 🐕‍🦺

Retractable leashes offer extra freedom, but they provide less control, can encourage pulling, and may be difficult to manage around traffic, crowds, or other animals. Their thin cords and locking mechanisms can also create safety risks.

For everyday walks and training, a standard fixed-length leash is often the safer, more dependable choice, giving you better control while encouraging good walking habits.

Whatever leash you choose, check it regularly for wear and make sure it’s securely attached before every walk. 🐾
