I’m sorry I’ve been a little quiet on here lately. Today’s post is a little different than my usual ones.

Today is one of the hardest days I’ve ever had. Today, I have to say goodbye to one of my very best friends.

He was the dog who made me a dog mom. The one who inspired me to pursue a career working with animals. He has been so much more than “just a dog”—he’s been my world, my protector, my constant, and my best friend.

For 15 incredible years, he’s been by my side through every high and every low. While I know this is the kindest gift I can give him, that doesn’t make it any easier. My heart is broken, but I’m so grateful for every moment we shared and for the beautiful life we had together.

I wanted to share this because I know so many of you have loved and lost pets of your own, and I know you’ll understand. If you see me over the next little while and I look like I’ve been crying… I probably have been.

I’ll be okay. Grief is simply love with nowhere to go, and healing takes time. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and for trusting me with your own beloved pets while I navigate this difficult chapter.

Please give your furry family members an extra hug from me today. ❤️
