Remembering & celebrating Impulsive✨🪽
Impulsive, affectionately known as “Norman” in the barn, passed away last week at 30 years old after a long and well-deserved retirement.
With Scott Lenkart, Impulsive’s record spoke for itself:
🏆 27 top-three finishes at 1.40m+
🏆 22 Grand Prix and Welcome wins
🏆 1 Speed Derby win (1st ever at WEF)
From their first show together in 2005 to his retirement in 2014, Impulsive was a once-in-a-lifetime partner whose heart, talent, and grit left an indelible mark on Scott’s career and the entire Lenkart family.
A heartfelt thank you to Angela Dominguez for giving him a beautiful home to enjoy his golden years.

South Haven Farm wrapped up their time at Traverse City with great results throughout GLEF V!

🏆Scott Lenkart rode Mercedes Flett’s Chicoletto to impressive scores of 89.5 & 91 in the USHJA National Hunter Derby to claim the top honors! Chicoletto also received the Platinum Performance Hunter Horse of the week!
🥈With Caldaro Van De Oude Heihoef, Scott was 2nd in the 7 Year Old USHJA Young Jumpers and top-4 in the 1.30m Jumpers.

🏆Lilly Goldstein & Adore were Reserve Champion in the Younger AO 3’3” Hunters, riding to multiple wins & a 2nd in the Stake.
🥈In the Eq ring, Lilly & Revanche were 2nd in the Ariat Adult Medal and top-6 in the THIS/ NHS Adult Medal.

🥇Finley Doyle won an over fences trip with Concise & won the under saddle with Captain America in the Younger Children’s Hunters!

🥈Lori Mathews & Amalfi were 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th in the Older Adult Hunters. Thank you again to Eyckenhoeve for this superstar hunter!🌟
🥉With Allegretto, Lori was 3rd among other great placings in the Older AO 3’3” Hunters!
🥇With Exclusive, Lori was 1st & 3rd in the USHJA 2’3” Hunters.

🥈Katie Lenkart & Canchanchara were 2nd in the 1.20m Jumpers!

🏅Addie Manson & Sinatra jumped to a first round score of 90.5 in the USHJA National Hunter Derby to 11th place!

🏅Scott Lenkart & Cinja P were top-4 in the 1.20m Jumpers.

Another great week in Traverse City is in the books📚🥳
GLEF IV highlights✨:

🏆Lori Mathews & Fletcher claimed multiple wins over fences in the Adult Amateur Hunters 50+ to finish Reserve Champion. We are so excited to officially welcome Fletcher to the Mathews/SHF crew! Congratulations, Lori, on your special new boy!🥰
🏅With Allegretto, Lori had great rounds & ribbons in the AO 3’3” Hunters.

🏆 Lilly Goldstein & Revanche were Reserve Champion in the Adult Eq, 3rd in the Ariat Adult Medal & top-4 in the THIS Adult Medal!
🏆In the hunters, Lilly & Adore were Reserve Champion in the AO 3’3” Hunters 18-35 with scores of 87 & 86 to take home multiple top-3 finishes.🥈Lilly also piloted Dom Perignon to a score of 88 to receive 2nd & 3rd in the AO 3'6" Hunters.

🥇Addie Manson & Searchlight won the Handy in the Small Jr 3’3” Hunters. Addie was also 2nd and top-5 with Sinatra in the same division.

🥈Finley Doyle & Captain America earned multiple 2nd place finishes in both the USHJA 2’9” Hunters and the Children’s Hunters 14 & Under divisions. With Concise, Finley placed 3rd in the Children’s Hunters.

🥈Courtney Lenkart & Parlay made their GLEF debut with 2nd & 3rd finishes in the Baby Green 2’6” Hunters!

🏅Scott Lenkart & Caldaro Van De Oude Heihoff were in the ribbons in the 7 Yr Old USHJA Young Jumpers.

The South Haven Team had a great time at GLEF 1 this past week!

🥈Finley Doyle & Lori Mathew’s Captain America kicked off their partnership together with great ribbons, including a 2nd in the NAL/WIHS Children’s Hunter Classic, 2nd in the USHJA 2’9” Hunters, & 3rd in the 14 & Under Children’s Hunters.
🌟Welcome to the SHF team, Finley! We are thrilled to have you!🌟

🥇Lori Mathews & Fletcher showed together for the first time, earning 2nd in the Adult Hunters. Earlier in the week, Katie Lenkart & Fletcher jumped to 1st & 3rd in the USHJA 3’ Hunters. Thank you to Eyckenhoeve for Fletcher!
🥉With Exclusive, Lori rode to top-3 placings in the USHJA 3’ & 2’6” Hunters.

🥈Addie Manson & Searchlight placed 2nd in the Small Junior 3’3” Hunter Handy! Courtney Lenkart also piloted Searchlight to a win in the Performance 3’3” Hunters.
🏆Courtney & Addie’s Sinatra claimed multiple wins in the USHJA 3’ Hunters to finish Reserve Champion!

🎓⭐️SHF Sales Graduate Spotlight⭐️🎓
Meet My Way, affectionately known as “Mickey” — another promising SHF graduate thriving under the care and guidance of Alex Ansteth and the Augusta Pines Farm team!

In the fall of 2024, Mickey was paired with a talented young rider looking to grow and move up through the ranks. With his kind demeanor, willing attitude, and exceptional brain, he quickly became a barn favorite and the perfect partner for learning and progression — leading to his official purchase in March 2025.

Together, Mickey and his rider are building both confidence and skill, with aspirations of one day competing in the jumpers and 3’6” equitation.
They’re already off to a great start, placing 2nd in the 2'6" Jr/Non-Pro Hunt-N-Go Derby at the Southwest Classic in Tyler, TX last month! 🎉

We’re excited to watch this partnership continue to blossom and are so grateful to the Augusta Pines team for their continued trust in our program.
Here’s to many more milestones for Mickey and his rider! 🖤✨
