Dropping the photo bucket from my trip. Our first adventure was nothing short of amazing! Flower was calm in every way. She hauled perfectly quiet. She was quiet in a pen, all by herself. There was a mare and foal across the property that she could see and they exchanged a few cordials, at first, but that was it. She did all the things I expected, but we’ve never actually tried. Stood still at the trailer for tacking up, picked me up from the trailer, and waited for the signal to move when mounting. She acted like we do this every day. We rode, with a friend, the first day and went about 8 miles. It’s steep hills and it’s rocky, so I’ll include her glorious, rock crushing, feet pics (no extra charge for those🤣). Days two and three were just us. We only did half the distance, mostly because my dog was tired, but I also wanted to do trails I felt confident navigating alone. She is brave! Marched right out to take on the world. We took our first canter, at my request. It’s smooth! Can’t wait to practice it more. The first day, I got off, to help her navigate some very slimy, slick rocks. When I got back on, I used a huge rock as a step. She stood still for me. On day three, I got off, and got back on, FROM the GROUND! That’s what one week getting back to my yoga, every day, will do! Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful cabin in the woods, and the beautiful rides through the Devils Backbone Wilderness Area in the Mark Twain National Forest.
If you’re looking for a wonderful Air BnB, with amazing hosts, shoot me a message and I’ll hook you up! If you’re looking for a solid trail horse, you can check them out too, at Premier Fox Trotters. I took a farm tour one morning, so I’ll post pictures from their herd. You can just pick a color and place your order and Brian will get your horse trail trained and ready for your own adventures! Y’all know I’m a Morgan gal, but he’s got a good thing going there!
