It’s National Immunization Awareness Month, and Keeping your dog up to date on vaccines is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect them from serious—and sometimes life-threatening—diseases. Some vaccines are recommended for every dog, while others are based on your dog’s lifestyle, age, travel, and risk of exposure. We can help create the vaccine plan that’s right for your best friend.
Distemper, Parvovirus, Adenovirus, and Parainfluenza vaccines are typically given together as one combination vaccine. We update them annually. Rabies is given separately and is required by Oklahoma law for all dogs. This is given every one to three years depending on their last dose. Your dog’s lifestyle will determine if other vaccines, such as Bordetella (kennel cough) and Leptospirosis, are recommended.
If you have questions about which vaccines your dog needs, we’re always happy to help!
🐾 P.S. The adorable pup featured in this post is One, and she’s looking for her forever family through 4 The Animals Rescue Inc. If you’ve been thinking about adopting, One would love to meet you! 💚
