🐾 June is National Pet Preparedness Month 🐶🐈

Emergencies can happen when we least expect them, and having a plan for your pets can make all the difference.

Take a few minutes to make sure your pet’s emergency kit includes:

- Food and water for several days
- Medications
- Medical records
- Leash, collar, and ID tags
- Recent photos
- Comfort items like favorite toys or blankets

As we wrap up National Pet Month, we couldn’t finish our series without featuring Dr. Sarah and EJ. ❤️🐾

EJ (Elijah James) came from a rural shelter in Texas along with his sibling, who was adopted by a friend. Since then, he has become a member of Dr. Sarah’s family and a very special part of her life.

Now around 11 years old, EJ enjoys taking life a little slower and can most often be found napping in his favorite spot in her daughter Eden’s room. 💤

Dr. Sarah has rescued many pets over the years and has a special little spot for EJ. He’s been a source of comfort and a constant presence by her side.

As National Pet Month comes to a close, we’re grateful for the bonds that we share with our pets and the love, companionship, and joy they bring to our lives. Thank you for following along as we’ve shared the stories of our clinic family and the pets who mean so much to them. ❤️

Our fourth installment for National Pet Month are Val and Buddy. They are a perfect example of the incredible bond people share with their pets. 🐾❤️

Buddy is around 5 or 6 years old and came into Val’s life after someone who could no longer keep him gave him to them. Since then, he has completely filled their home with love and laughter.

He’s full of personality and loves climbing playground equipment, going down slides, swinging, and riding in the car with his head out the window after park trips. Buddy also has a soft spot for kittens and even helped watch over a mama cat and kitten that showed up in their bushes.

Most of all, Buddy has a gentle heart. He always seems to know when someone isn’t feeling well and will stay close by, quietly watching over them and offering comfort in his own special way. 💕

Meet Stormy and her boy, Buddha (aka Big B***y Buddha Boy.) 🐾😂

Buddha came into Stormy’s life after being dumped along Highway 60 during the week of her birthday in 2022. Huskies have always been Stormy’s favorite breed, so finding him when she did felt a little meant to be. ❤️

Since then, Buddha has become a huge part of the family and keeps life interesting every single day. Right now he’s currently in his “escape artist” era after getting out of the yard THREE times in TWO days. 😅

Anyone who loves Huskies knows they’re full of personality, intelligence, and just a little bit of chaos. Buddha fits that description perfectly. No matter how many times he tests the fences, Stormy wouldn’t trade her goofy, adventurous boy for anything. ❤️🐾

Ari came to us through Animal Rescue Foundation after having a very hard start in life as a stray kitten. By the time she got to the rescue, she was scared, shut down, and struggling to adjust. The rescue decided to bring her to our clinic to find out what was wrong. After some days of observation Ari started to eat, drink, and perk up a bit, and indicated that she wanted to stay. 🐾

These days, Ari spends her time supervising the front desk with Porsha, asking for her attention, and soaking up love from clients. Porsha and Ari have a special bond and they spend a lot of time together. Ari definitely knows she’s safe and loved. ❤️

For our first National Pet Month post we are featuring Alex and one of her furry family members, Lilith.

Lilith had a rough start to life. She was found by an animal control officer in a box alongside older German Shepherd puppies that were being given away for free. Lilith was only about 4–5 weeks old and had a noticeable head tilt and balancing issues, likely stemming from a neck or head injury after being stepped on in the box. As soon as Alex saw her she fell love. 🐾😊

For nearly a year, Lilith lived with that head tilt, but with love, patience, and care, she has healed and has a beautiful and happy home with our amazing Alex. ❤️🐶

We’re so excited to celebrate National Pet Month by sharing stories of the special pets who mean so much to our team!
