Making this post is not easy, but I’ve made the difficult decision to step away and sell out of my rabbits.
What began as a simple meat pen project for my county fair quickly turned into something so much bigger. From attending my first show in March of 2021, to earning my first 2nd Reserve in Show that May, and then my first Best in Show in June—it didn’t take long before I completely fell in love with this journey.
That same year, I discovered youth contests, and they truly changed my life. Through royalty, breed ID, showmanship (my personal favorite), and judging, I was pushed to grow in ways I never expected. I’ve been incredibly blessed to earn multiple titles, including state and national ones, but even more importantly, I’ve met some of the most amazing people and lifelong friends along the way.
Rabbits gave me a reason to travel and explore, from Texas to Indiana to Kentucky, and helped me experience so much of this country. This project has taught me responsibility, humility in both winning and losing, how to teach others while continuing to learn myself, and how to step outside my comfort zone even when it’s scary.
And now, it’s teaching me one more thing, how to love something deeply, but also recognize when it’s time to let it go.
Life is shifting. Between being a college student, working in childcare, and discovering new passions, I know this is the right decision, even if it’s a hard one. Rabbits were once my whole world, and now they’ll become one of my most meaningful memories.
While I’m stepping away from raising and showing, I will still be involved in the rabbit community. I am still a ARBA registar and will continue to be available to register rabbits, and you’ll still see me at shows in that role as well as helping behind the table and behind the scenes.
This isn’t a goodbye forever, I’ll still be around, and who knows… I might pick up one rabbit again someday. But for now, I’ll be selling out of what I have.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, and been part of this journey. It has truly meant more than I can put into words.
Please keep an eye on my page for rabbits and supplies that will be available soon ❤️
