💙🐾 Meet Suki 🐾💙

Some dogs blend into the background.

Suki has absolutely no idea how to do that.

At 9 months old, this Australian Cattle Dog mix has serious main-character energy. Tall, athletic, and impossible to overlook, she walks into a room like she's already been cast as the lead. ✨

Suki is smart, active, and always ready for whatever comes next. She already knows Sit and approaches life with the firm belief that everything is better when her people are involved. Going for a hike? She's in. Running errands? Sounds fun. Hanging out in the backyard? Count her in.

For Suki, the best adventures are the ones shared together.

Like many young cattle dog mixes, she's looking for a family that wants an active, engaged companion. Someone who appreciates a dog with brains, energy, and a zest for life. She's ready to learn, ready to explore, and ready to be part of the action.

And while her striking looks might be what catches your attention first, it's her enthusiasm, affection, and eagerness to connect that will make you fall in love.

Suki isn't looking for a supporting role.

She's looking for her people.

🏕️🐾 Larry was built for summer. 🐾🏕️

While everyone else is planning camping trips, evenings by the fire, weekends at the lake, and long walks on wooded trails, Larry is still waiting for someone to take him along.

And that's a shame, because this guy is practically the definition of a perfect outdoor companion.

With his rugged good looks, sturdy build, and easygoing personality, Larry looks like he belongs next to a campfire, riding shotgun in a pickup, or stretched out beside your chair after a day of adventure. 🪵☀️

At around 6 years old, Larry has left the wild puppy antics behind. He's at that wonderful age where he still enjoys getting out and exploring, but he's also perfectly content to relax and enjoy the simple things in life. Think less "chaotic trail gremlin" and more "reliable campsite buddy."

And for all his outdoorsy charm, Larry has an incredibly sweet side. Start giving him scritches and he'll lean right into you, soaking up every bit of affection. He's the kind of dog who makes himself easy to love.

There's something wholesome and familiar about Larry. Like muddy boots by the door. Early morning coffee on the porch. A loyal friend who is always happy to see you.

Summer is short. Larry shouldn't spend it watching adventures happen from a kennel.

Let's find this handsome guy a family to share the season with. 💙

🎩💙 A Formal Announcement from Randolph 💙🎩

Good evening, internet.

It has come to my attention that I am currently involved in a three-way tie for the title of Longest Resident at HSBC, alongside Miss Mandy and Miss Chia. While I appreciate the distinction, I would respectfully like to decline any further participation in this particular competition.

As such, I have decided to increase my public appearances.

You may have known me previously as Randy. While I still answer to Randy, I feel that after spending this much time perfecting the art of thoughtful observation, distinguished loafing, and quietly judging feather toys from across the room, "Randolph" better captures my essence.

So yes, you can expect to be seeing much more of my handsome face.

For those who haven't yet had the pleasure:

I am a long-haired gray and white gentleman of considerable charm, not quite a year old. I enjoy peaceful environments, meaningful friendships, and taking a reasonable amount of time to get to know new people. I am not one for dramatic first impressions. I prefer a slow reveal. A character arc, if you will.

Once I trust you, however, I am sweet, affectionate, and deeply loyal.

I also happen to have a sister named Mandy. She has been my trusted companion through all of life's recent adventures, and while it is not absolutely required that we go home together, I would certainly consider it a delightful arrangement. We take comfort in one another, and thanks to a generous sponsor, our adoption fees have been partially covered—which makes saying "yes" to both of us a little easier. 💕

In conclusion:

✔️ Handsome
✔️ Thoughtful
✔️ Soft and fluffy
✔️ Slightly quirky
✔️ Available for immediate appointment as your best friend

I have spent long enough perfecting my shelter residency credentials.

I would very much like to try being someone's cat now.

Yours respectfully,

Randolph 🎩🐾

On Sunday, the cats of HSBC issued a very dramatic emergency broadcast regarding the complete and total collapse of the shelter treat supply.

To be fair, they weren't wrong.

The treat bins were empty. The Churu reserves were dwindling. Morale was low. Several cats were reportedly considering filing formal complaints with management.

And then you all showed up.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who heard the cats' plea and came to their rescue. Donations have been arriving already, and today we were absolutely blown away by this incredible donation from an anonymous supporter. Needless to say, the cats were equally astonished (and immediately began calculating how many treats this mountain of snacks represents).

The animals in our care rely entirely on the generosity of our community, and every bag of treats, can of food, toy, blanket, and dollar donated helps us provide comfort, enrichment, and excellent care while they wait for their families.

Whether you donated from our wishlists, shopped locally, shared our post, or simply continue to support our mission, thank you. Your kindness makes an enormous difference to the animals and to our small but dedicated team.

The cats have asked us to pass along one final message:

"Thank you for your service. The crisis has been temporarily averted. We will continue to monitor treat levels closely and issue further statements as necessary."

From all of us at HSBC—human and feline alike—thank you for caring so much about the animals we serve. ❤️🐾

🖤✨ Nico — the kitten with the built-in exclamation point! ✨🖤

At just 12 weeks old, Nico is a fluffy black bundle of fun with one particularly adorable feature: a white-tipped tail that looks like he accidentally dipped it in paint on his way out the door. 🤍🐾

This little guy was raised in a home, so he's already familiar with the important things in life: people, everyday household sounds, cozy places to nap, and even sharing space with a small dog. He's got a great start on being an excellent housemate.

Now he's ready for the next big adventure: finding a family of his very own.

Like all kittens, Nico is busy figuring out who he's going to be when he grows up. Will he become a professional window watcher? A champion toy mouse hunter? A world-class lap cat? The possibilities are endless. 🎓🐱

What we do know is that he's at that magical age where every day brings a new discovery, a new game, and a new reason to make you laugh.

If you're looking for a kitten-sized sidekick with fluffy fur, a playful spirit, and a tail that's impossible to forget, Nico is ready to move into your home and start making memories.

💙🐾 We'd like to introduce you to Lincoln. 🐾💙

With his stunning blue eyes, adorably expressive face, and personality that's impossible not to love, 5-year-old Lincoln is the kind of dog who makes friends everywhere he goes.

In fact his vet records state Lincoln is "perhaps the most well behaved/quiet husky ever" - their words, not ours - but we won't argue his praise!

He's the complete package: housetrained, crate trained, and already knows Sit, Shake, Down, and Kennel Up. Lincoln has lived with children of all ages, gets along well with other dogs, and loves a good game of fetch almost as much as he loves spending time with his people. 🎾

He's sweet, well-mannered, and ready to be part of a family again. The kind of dog who reminds you why dogs are called man's best friend.

And then there's the Husky part. 💙

Yes, Lincoln talks.

Not the dramatic, scream-at-the-moon, file-a-noise-complaint kind of Husky talking.

Lincoln prefers sweet little conversations. Soft "ah ruvff... oooo" sounds. Tiny opinions. Gentle commentary. The sort of noises that make you stop and say, "Wait... did he just tell me he loves me?"

Honestly, we think he did.

Whether he's chasing a tennis ball, showing off his tricks, making new dog friends, or chatting about his day, Lincoln has a way of making life more fun just by being part of it.

He's spent years being someone's beloved companion. Now he's ready to be someone else's.

And he's been practicing his "ah ruvff... oooo" for a while now.

All he needs is someone to say it back. 💙🐾

🐾🎾 Ruby: Olympic Level Fetch Champion (Still Undefeated, Still Opinionated) 🎾🐾

This past weekend we decided to challenge Ruby, our undisputed champion of fetch, to “level up” her game.

The mission: play fetch… but with a twist.
The twist: return the ball directly to hand. 🤝

Ruby’s response: visible disagreement.

Let’s just say Ruby did not so much embrace this new rule as she did politely reject the concept of it. The ball was fetched. The ball was returned. To the had a few times. Mostly though, the ball was returned in Ruby’s preferred method, on Ruby’s terms, at Ruby’s speed. 🐶💨

And honestly? We respect it.

Teaching new skills is a great way to keep dogs mentally engaged and enriched while in the shelter, and Ruby is no exception. Even when she strongly disagrees with the fine print. 😄

While she hasn’t mastered “direct hand delivery” yet, we have no doubt this determined, toy-driven athlete will get there in no time… or at least negotiate a better version of the rule.

Stay tuned. The training saga continues. 🎾🐾

06/08/2026

Millie, Tina, and Gene had a very important job assignment today: learning how to use the cat wheel. 🐾

And honestly? They started off strong. There were tentative steps, some brave attempts at coordination, and even a few “I meant to do that” moments of actual running. For a brief, shining moment, it looked like we might have future feline marathoners in training.

But… this is a kitten crew we’re talking about.

It didn’t take long before “work mode” turned into “play mode.” The wheel became a stage for wrestling matches, dramatic flops, surprise pounces, and general chaos disguised as enrichment. Gene tried to supervise. Tina tried to invent a new way to roll instead of run. Millie decided the wheel was optional and preferred zooming around it instead.

So while they may not have mastered the cat wheel today… they absolutely mastered the art of turning anything into fun. 😹💛

More training sessions to come—but we’re not sure the wheel is ready for this level of enthusiasm.

☀️🐾 Sunny is the perfect summer companion... so why is he spending summer in a shelter? 🐾☀️

Sunny has officially been with us for one month, and we can't help but feel like he's missing out on exactly the kind of life he was made for.

This is a dog who should be joining you for weekend adventures, tagging along on camping trips, exploring local trails, supervising backyard BBQs, and then curling up beside you for a nap after a day well spent.

How do we know? Because Sunny has already enjoyed a few Dogs Day Out adventures with one of our volunteers, and the reports are exactly what you'd expect from a dog named Sunny. 💛

He's sweet as can be, loves being outdoors, enjoys exploring new places, and is always up for an adventure. But once the fun is over, he's more than happy to settle in on the couch for a cozy nap. The best adventure buddies know how to relax, too.

Sunny is clearly accustomed to being part of a home. He loves being around people, has wonderful house manners, knows Sit, walks nicely on leash, and can catch treats like a major league outfielder. ⚾🍖

With his soft cream-blonde coat, affectionate personality, and expert-level snuggling skills, Sunny has a way of making every day feel a little brighter. He's the dog equivalent of a perfect summer day: warm, easygoing, and impossible not to enjoy.

Summer is short. Sunny shouldn't have to spend the whole thing waiting.

Let's find him a family to share sunsets, road trips, backyard evenings, and couch naps with before the season slips away. ☀️💛

SUNDAY SCARIES: CAT EDITION

It’s us. The cats of HSBC.

We regret to inform you that a very serious situation has unfolded overnight.

All treats are gone.

We repeat: ALL. TREATS. ARE. GONE.

No crunchy treats. No soft treats. Not even the “we pretend these are healthy but they’re actually just emotionally supportive snacks” treats. The bins are empty. The situation is… bleak.

We are now entering what experts (us, collectively staring into the void at 3 a.m.) are calling The Great Treat Depression of Sunday Night.

To make matters worse, we are now dangerously low on Churu. As in: we are starting to ration. As in: one squeeze tube is being shared among emotionally unstable individuals who absolutely did not consent to this arrangement.

We are not okay.

The Sunday Scaries have hit hard. Humans are dreading Monday morning. We are dreading the fact that there is nothing left to bribe us into forgiving Monday.

We are asking—no, we are pleading with dignity on thin ice—for help.

If you are able, please send:

Crunchy treats (preferred crunch level: loud enough to forget existential dread)
Soft treats (for emotional processing)
Churu (for emergency morale stabilization)
Anything that can be classified as “edible and vaguely exciting”

You can support our recovery via our Amazon wishlist, Walmart registry, or Chewy wishlist for your convenience. Or, if you’re feeling especially heroic, feel free to shop local and drop off at the shelter.

We thank you in advance for saving us from another treatless day.

We are accepting donations, emotional support, and immediate snack intervention.
