We here at Onion River Animal Hospital would like to start Animal Pain Awareness Month off right by going over some common signs of pain in our pets. It's important to note that every pet is different and will express pain or discomfort in different ways. Although some signs can be easy to spot, like limping, gunky eyes, or non-stop scratching at their ears/shaking their head, other signs can be more subtle. Some subtle yet common signs to look out for are not wanting to eat or having a decreased appetite, being more lethargic and less active, and generally not acting like their happy selves.
Overall, owners know their pets best and are crucial in spotting when your furry friends aren't feeling themselves. If you suspect your pet is showing signs of pain or would like more information on what to look out for, feel free to reach out via call, text, or email would be happy to assist. Have a good day, and thank you all for being a part of our family at Onion River Animal Hospital.
