My personal results/ testimony!!
If you know me, or my horse BOSSMAN, you know I have literally done it ALL when it comes to trying to make him โfatโ or full looking or as I like to put it, like a show horse. I raised him, and Heโs always been on the hard keeper side. When I tell you Iโve tried it all, IVE TRIED IT ALLLLLLL. Different feeds, different hays, different supplements, vet work, more vet work, more supplements or gut work, ulcer treatments, epm treatments, wormers, round and round and round. Heโd look good, then heโd look not so good, heโd get fat, then heโd get skinny. (To me, skinny for me- others would say I had a picky eye lol)
Last year I wanted to try Dove feeds and did, but it was a little more difficult for me to get and stay on for the amount of horses I am feeding, so I stuck with the TSC route; as they are around every corner. So I decided, Iโm going to try and make my โownโ forage based feed from store bought items. I watched every tiktok video, read every article and tried to make my own. While thatโs achievable, Iโm pretty sure I was making a $40 a bag feed ๐ฎโ๐จ.
Now to the funny partโฆ. When I say I tried everything for my complicated spoiled black horse, I did. I broke down and called a horse psychic. And whether you believe in it or not, she gave me some solid things to focus on. She mentioned that Bossโ stomach was hurting, and more specifically his intestinal/ gut health. So down that rabbit hole I went. I called Ally Hayes with Oxy-Gen Equine and we started him on appetite advantage and her vitamin/ mineral pack. And then I finally jumped in and started him on Dove Performance Nutrition. And I chose to go back to this, because EVERYTHING I was focusing on for this horse, was already in this feed. The minerals, the pre and pro biotics for his gut, the omegas, heโs always been one to better on a big forage base, and this was all here. So, 2 months in, and you can see my results Iโve had on him and DD, who was a broodmare for over a year ready to go back to work.
I donโt have the best grass pastures in the world, I donโt feed large amounts of alfalfa if any at all, I am not currently feeding much hay to these horses because of grass.
Boss feed is:
2 scoops of magnify A DAY and 1/2 scoop of OMG. And above mentioned Oxygen supplements
DD feed is:
One scoop of magnify in am
1/2 scoop at night.
They go out to pasture all night. This is nothing special. This is balanced forage nutrition that we have available now!
