October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗🐍

At Pink Ribbon Pythons, this cause is personal. Our hobby was born from our family’s experience with breast cancer, and raising awareness has always been a big part of what PRP is about.

We loved this image because it highlights something most people probably don’t know: venom from some snakes has been studied for its potential medical applications, including cancer research.

Snakes are often misunderstood, but they play important roles in our ecosystems—and their biology continues to teach us things that could benefit people.

This month, we’ll be sharing a little more about breast cancer awareness, the science behind snakes and medicine, and why the cause behind Pink Ribbon Pythons means so much to us.

Our breeding hobby was born from our family’s experience with breast cancer, and every snake, clutch and new follower gives us another opportunity to spread awareness and remind people that behind every diagnosis is a real person, a real family, and a story.

This month, we’re standing with those affected by breast cancer — patients, survivors, caregivers, and the families who walk beside them.
