Bumpy's transformation! He gets hand stripped, which is a traditional and proper way of grooming Cairn Terriers among other breeds. It is done by pulling hair from an older cycle to make room for new hair. This keeps the coat coarse and neat and tidy. He is such a good boy for this process.

Hey Zen fans! This is Andy. He's a boy that touched my heart from the start and has been the sweetest improvement project. Andy was taken in knowing he had injuries and a neurological issue from an unknown source that causes him to spin circles to the left only. He releases his anxiety this way. When I first met him, he spun circles constantly. Our first grooming session was no different. Allowing him breaks to release and bring himself back to me. Meeting him where he's at, made him and I a better team. I allow him to spin the circles when he starts getting antsy instead of pushing through for everything. This takes extra time, but the result of the extra time is less anxiety and a less stressful grooming session.
Meeting dogs where they're at is my career. LITERALLY! Coming to your dogs to help them achieve freshness and anxiety relief(among other things). Meeting them where they're at to gain trust and understanding. Andy has been blessed with such wonderful and patient parents who take time to help him through his anxiety and to truly become a dog. This family makes my heart beat so strong with love for my career! Love you Andy!!! 💕🐾

Congratulations to this special boy, Sammich! Sammich and I had been working together since December 2025(6 appointments total) and he has come such a long way. Trust, effort, supportive parents, and love are what made it happen to help him graduate from rehabilitation grooming! He went from being a danger to him and I with his fear and anxiety, to acceptance and full trust in me. The focus we worked to correct was ear plucking and cleaning; An essential part of keeping healthy ears for some breeds with hairy ears. He had such anxiety of having his ears cleaned let alone plucked of any hair that was congesting his ear canal. The moment I would flip the leather of his ear over, his energy went from 0-1000 in a second. After several sessions and lots of practice with each grooming session, we finally made it to the day where we have accomplished fully plucked and cleaned ears! I am SO PROUD of him and I am so grateful for the opportunity to help him work past his fears to create a more calm and accepted grooming experience. Way to go, SAMMICH! 🎉🎓

This woman really breaks down the pricing that goes into grooms. This is a labor of love but it is also LABOR that comes at a price. House-call grooming isn't mentioned but all factors she mentions are equally applicable. House-call grooming is a luxury service that is performed with skill and back breaking work and patience, not in a salon built for grooming, but your home that isn't set up for grooming. Going the extra mile is my passion even though it is far more challenging than a shop. The hauling, set up and break down, travel, new spaces to acclimate to with each groom, and training are just a few things that factor into pricing.
