Green Acres Kennel Shop is a full service pet care business offering pet-friendly boarding, daycare, grooming, training classes, and behavioral consultations for cats and dogs. Additionally we offer a full range of wholesome pet food and quality pet supplies. We have repeatedly been voted the region’s Best Kennel every year since 2002, the Best Pet Store every year since 2007, the Best Dog Trainer every year since 2012, and the Best Pet Groomer every year since 2013. We are a pet friendly, force-free, fear free facility and we meet or exceed the standards set in the Position Statements of The Pet Professional Guild (PPG) and the behavior guidelines of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). It is our mission to: 1) Provide pets with a safe and comforting home away from home when their caretakers must be away, 2) Groom pets so that they look and feel their best, 3) Continually evaluate and offer a wide range of healthy and wholesome pet foods and quality pet supplies at great prices, 4) Teach you about your pet and how to train them so that you become and remain best friends for life, and 5) Serve as an information resource on pet care. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD-In his latest ForceFreePets.com blog post, Don Hanson, PCBC-A, discusses the importance of accepting our dogs for who they are as well as always being patient and kind with them. He shares a story of how he let his ego become so wrapped up in making his dog Gus “perfect: that it damaged their relationship and made them both miserable. It ended with Don being kicked out of a training class, which led him to reevaluate what was truly important to him and Gus.
