Upcoming events--this Friday (see post), then 8/29 at Dysarts on Broadway, there will be a craft fair and we will have a table selling all our Bangor Dog Park merchandise! Then we will have a merchandise table at the Bangor Water front in September (more to come on that) and then on October 24, we will be having a trunk or treat at the dog park and the committee members cars will have all the treats for your dogs to enjoy. Dress them up and bring them over (if your dog is ok with other dogs/noise and people). This will be very fun event and our way of saying thank you to all that visit and all that donate to our fund to make us the premier dog park! November we are still working on something and will let you all know as soon as we finalize the plan. Of course, we are moving forward with our gazebos and plans are under way for their purchase and installation. We then will be focusing on getting the agility equipment and then a rainbow bridge will be in the works. If you want to donate and or sponsor something like a piece of equipment, you can make contact at Bangor Parks and Rec--Bangor dog park on how to make your donation and ask any questions. Thank you!

Reminder, we have our fundraiser coming up for the dog park! We have settled on a Christmas theme, and this set up with the fireplace will be available for the photo shoot! The shoot is 2-430. With such an amazing opportunity to use this beautiful background we wanted to start a list of dogs interested in getting their photo taken so we can set up a list with times. We will still allow people to walk in for pictures but want to make sure everyone on this page has an opportunity so reach out to Lynnae Chaput on Facebook.

Friday is the big day! These would be fabulous for Christmas!

Hey Dog Park Goers,
We have had some questions and confusion about what each pen is for, so we wanted to clear up the confusion:

Large Pen:
The large dog pen is for dogs over 25lbs. We do understand that smaller dogs do get along with large dogs, but we ask if your dog is under 25lbs that you ask every parent in the park if it is okay for your small dog to come in before entering. Even if your small dog has been to the park before it is important to ask as there will always be different dogs in the pen. If the parents say that their dog does not get along with small dogs, please be respectful and go to the small dog pen. This is for your dogs’ safety.

Small Pen:
The small dog pen is for dogs under 25lbs. We know that sometimes people use the small dog pen when their dog does not get along with other dogs in the large pen, but we ask that if a small dog comes and wants to use the pen, please let them. Remember this is their space and we want to make sure every dog has an opportunity for safe play.

Training Pen:
The training pen is for training purposes. This is the only pen that people can carry treats with them. We ask that if you are not actively training your dog and someone comes up to the pen and wants to use it for training purposes that you leave the pen. We know that this pen gets used for people whose dogs might be overwhelmed in the large dog pen which is acceptable, but we need to remember that the pen is set up for training purposes and if someone wants to use it for such, we need to let them.

These guidelines are so all dogs can have a positive experience at our wonderful park. Please be courteous to other dog parents. We are currently working to update the guidelines and signs so they will be less busy and easier to read. Please read the signs if you are new to the park as they have some good information and read the guidelines on the Bangor Parks and rec site under dog park. It explains the why and how of each guideline as well as a lot of facts and information.
Thank you and as always don’t forget to scoop your p**p!
