Ilka is an energetic 2 year old, 55lbs boxer, spayed and up to date on her shots.

She was adopted into a loving home almost 2 years ago at 12 weeks old when she was rescued from her original owner who starved her almost to death šŸ˜¢ She is playful and smart.

This week a scuffle over food took place between Ilka and the other female dog in the home and the owner believes itā€™s for everyoneā€™s safety that Ilka be surrendered back to the rescue. Ilka has not exhibited any signs of food aggression with human.

Sheā€™s lived with another female dog since she was a baby, throughout these two years, and a couple of cats. Sheā€™s playful with the other dog and all dogs she plays with at doggie daycare.

She playfully lunges at the cats but has never harmed them.

Ilka is not crate trained and can chew on some stuff when left unattended. Sheā€™s mostly house trained but can have the occasional accident.

She can be vocal at times but not persistent in her ā€œtalkingā€

Sheā€™s easy to walk but can pull on the leash and needs more guidance on that. She is not reactive on walks and very happy to meet people. She can be jumpy and hasnā€™t been taught otherwise. She also takes full advantage of her ā€œlicker licenseā€ and loves to clean human faces and feet!

Sheā€™s not a fan of thunderstorms or fireworks but is not one to become super anxious about it.

With the exception of an incident that took place with the daughter who she loved very much, Ilka has been phenomenal.

Little Alisa and her best friend Tosha flew in from Kuwait a month ago. Their foster noticed that Alisa had an ever expanding girth, and a couple days ago we took her in for a checkup at the veterinarian.

SURPRISE!! Alisa has four tiny healthy puppies growing in her, and may give birth as early as next week!

Please join us in celebrating the mama-to-be, and collecting some essentials for her wonderful foster family.

Rescue is not easy, actually it is very hard and painful with lots of suffering. So many times Iā€™ve wanted to throw in the towel but when I see their eyes so scared and helpless I simply cannot turn my back on the animals.
Itā€™s even harder for our partners in Kuwait. They are in the frontlines and see the horrors of the physical/emotional abuse and trauma that these poor animals endure.

Last night the bombing started again. They are in very dire need of help to feed and care for the 240 animals they have at the shelter. If you can please send what you can spare it will surely feed the hungry souls and medicate the sick and wounded. Please donate.

Please help us get these babies to their forever home. They are a bonded pair of teacup Yorkies that survived a bad situation together and deserve to be happy . One is a male and the other a female . The weigh about 4 lbs each. Hereā€™s what their foster mom says about them.

They are lovely. Cutest little love bugs ever. Best disposition. Minimal barking.
They donā€™t like being separated.
Again, they are the sweetest little pups. Someone is going to be very very lucky to get them.

Today was Oreoaā€™s day! After a very difficult start in Kuwait we finally managed to bring her here to the US and she made her way to her forever home. She will be loved and cherished the way she rightfully deserves!
We are very thankful to her foster mom, Molly, for everything she has done to prepare Oreoa for this special day.
