🚨 BENTLEY NEEDS ADOPTER BY TOMORROW, OCTOBER 23! 🚨

🎾❤️ Meet Bentley. His emotional support tennis ball comes with him!
Bentley arrived at BVSPCA in DC as a stray back in June. Somehow, after all these months, this sweet boy is still waiting for someone to choose him. But time is running out. Kennel stress is taking its toll, and Bentley needs to be adopted by Friday, October 23. 💔

At about 2 years and 9 months old and 40 pounds, Bentley is a whole lot of love packed into one adorable package. He's won over the staff and volunteers, and honestly, who could resist that face and his trusty tennis ball?

A few things to know about this guy:

🎾 Tennis ball enthusiast: His favorite accessory is never far away. We suspect it's non-negotiable.

🐶 Dog-friendly: He enjoys hanging out with other dogs in the shelter's Gentle & Dainty playgroup.

🚶 Great walking buddy: Away from the stress of the kennel, Bentley is a pleasure to walk and would love someone to explore the world with.

❤️ Ready to go home: He's neutered and fully vetted. All he needs now is a family.

💔 Iris is running out of time, and we desperately need someone to step up for her so that she doesn't face the same fate as so many others at the PG county shelter recently. We have until TUESDAY to find her a committed, long-term foster. Without one, we may lose the chance to save her life.

❤️ Fostering saves lives. Every foster who opens their home creates space and gives another animal a chance to be saved. Fostering Iris could mean the difference between life and death—not just for her, but for the animals we can help when space opens up.

🙏 We are urgently asking for someone who can make a commitment to Iris for the long term. You don't have to be in a position to adopt to make a life-saving difference. You just have to be willing to give her a safe place, love, and a chance to find the forever family she deserves.

❤️🐾 HAPPY TAILS FOR RIGGS! 🐾❤️

Riggs is living his best life with Chace, and we couldn’t be happier! 🏡💕

His family says he is the most wonderful boy — sweet, loving, and just the best little guy. 🥹❤️

And it sounds like Riggs may have discovered that swimming is pretty fun after all! 🏊‍♂️🐶 After going swimming, he tried to jump right into the bathtub with her the very next night! 😂🛁 We think that’s a pretty good sign that he enjoyed his water adventure a little more than he let on!

There is nothing better than hearing that one of our rescue pups is loved, happy, and making himself right at home. These are the updates that make all the hard work worthwhile. ❤️

Congratulations on your happily ever after, Riggs! May your days be filled with love, family adventures, bathtub shenanigans, and all the happiness you deserve. 🐾💙

Meet Tristan, a 4-year-old, 65-pound bundle of love with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

This handsome guy is smart, affectionate, and always ready to make his people smile with his goofy and amusing nature. Tristan is eager to please and highly treat motivated, making him a fun and rewarding dog to train. He already knows basic commands and enjoys learning new things with his favorite humans by his side

Tristan is house-trained, enjoys medium-energy walks, and loves spending quality time relaxing with his people after a little adventure. He is inquisitive, people friendly, and happiest when he feels included in the action. While he can be vocal at times, he is simply a talkative dog who likes to express himself and say hello with a few barks and sniffs.

He does well with other dogs when introductions are handled slowly and thoughtfully, and he would thrive with a patient adopter who will continue helping him build confidence. Tristan would do best in a quieter suburban environment where he can enjoy peaceful walks and a more relaxed lifestyle away from the overstimulation of busy city living. Tristan has made wonderful progress and is ready for a forever family who will appreciate his loving personality, intelligence, and loyal companionship.

💔 Some dogs lose their home once. Dior has lost hers more than once, and somehow, she still has nothing but love to give.

Please take a minute to read Dior’s story. This beautiful girl deserves a happy ending, and we desperately want to help her find it.

At just 4 years old, Dior has already experienced more heartbreak than any dog should. She was surrendered by her original owner when she was only a year old, but eventually found what she thought would be her forever home with an elderly couple in their 80s who absolutely adored her. She became her dad’s constant companion. They were inseparable. She stayed by his side, walked gently beside him, and gave him the kind of unconditional love only a dog can give.

Sadly, both of her beloved humans have since passed away. Their neighbor, who is now caring for Dior, stepped in to make sure she wouldn't be left without somewhere to go. But despite their best efforts, Dior needs a new forever family of her own.

And here's the thing about Dior... she is SO easy to love.

She is a professional cuddler who loves nothing more than snuggling up with her person, preferably right in bed beside them. She has a serious obsession with tennis balls, enjoys her outdoor playtime, loves her toys, and knows her commands. She is affectionate, devoted, gentle, and happiest when she has someone to call her own.

Dior is looking for a home where she can be the one and only pet. She deserves a home where she doesn't have to compete for attention or navigate life alongside other animals. She has also shown focused curiosity toward cats, so a cat-free home is recommended.

Dior would do best in a quieter home with a predictable routine, where she can soak up all the love and attention. Her experience with children is limited, so any placement with kids would need careful consideration.

She is currently around 72 pounds and working toward a healthier weight.

We know her perfect person is out there. Someone who wants a loyal companion, a cuddle buddy, a tennis ball enthusiast, and a best friend who will adore them with her whole heart.

Dior has already had to say goodbye to the people she loved most. She deserves to stop wondering where she belongs. She deserves a home where she can unpack her bags, climb onto the couch, steal a spot in bed, and finally know that she's staying.

Let's make sure Dior's next chapter is her forever chapter. ❤️
