Some of you may remember Honey, now known as Yaz, who was adopted back in November. Look at her now! She’s 10 months old and 60 pounds with ears that go both ways! We are so grateful to her family for sharing her photos and update with her. We know she is so well loved!

🎶 These Boots were made for walking 🎶

Meet Boots! Although he does love a good walk, he also loves people and other dogs. Boots is a very social, friendly, and affectionate boy despite coming from a neglectful start in life. Boots is the kind of dog who brings a little extra joy wherever he goes! I mean, just look at that face!

This sweet 10 month old shepherd mix is located in Maryland and loves making dog friends, playing with his people, and being part of whatever is happening. With his happy spirit and playful personality, Boots is always ready to turn an ordinary day into an adventure. Because of his energetic style, he may be a bit much for very small children and would likely do best in a home with older kids or adults.

How pretty is this girl!? This is Lady, located in Maryland. She came to ASR as a pregnant stray and was a wonderful mother to all 8 of her puppies. They’ve all gone on to find wonderful homes, but somehow Lady is still waiting for hers.

Lady has basic obedience training and is already crate and house trained as well. She does well with kids 10 and up and thoroughly enjoys the company of other dogs.

A sweet, happy girl, Lady loves being outside. She’s playful and affectionate too! She’s a smart girl with a goofy side guaranteed to make you laugh.

Hi, I’m Kayo!

A little while ago, I was a stray dog sitting in an overcrowded shelter in Maryland, and my time was running out. Thankfully, I got a second chance. Now all I need is a family to call my own.

I have a big heart and an even bigger love for life! If you’re looking for a buddy to join you on walks, play fetch in the yard, or simply be your loyal sidekick, I might be your guy.

I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and I love making new friends. Sometimes I get a little overexcited around other dogs because I’m just so happy to play! If you already have a dog, they should enjoy active, energetic play too!

What I really want is a family who will love me, continue helping me learn, and include me in their life. In return, I promise plenty of laughs, unconditional love, and a lifetime of loyalty.

Meet Maxwell! ❤️
Maxwell is a 7-year-old absolute sweetheart whose joy for life is impossible to miss. When he arrived at our shelter, he was as happy as could be—pulling on the leash, wagging his tail, and eager to make new friends. Hidden by thick fur and a happy face was a very thick laceration and infection from an embedded bandana. The same kind animals get after a groom. At some point in his life, Maxwell appears to have been loved and cared for.

Despite being in tremendous pain from the deep wound, Maxwell never let it steal his gentle spirit. In fact, he would pull against the leash—even pulling on the very injury that hurt him—just to get closer for pets and affection.

Dogs like Maxwell remind us why we do this work. No matter what life has handed him, he still greets every person with trust, kindness, and hope.

Maxwell is now healed and we are committed to helping him find the family he longs for.
