Please SHARE!! Urgent foster/adopter needed!
Looking for Foster or better yet, an Adopter!
Meet Seeker: an energetic, affectionate, and playful émigré from Kuwait. He is a 3-year-old German
shepherd/desert dog cross who will make an excellent guardian and companion for the right owner. He
is not an entry-level dog, however, and will need someone who can provide a stable and consistent environment for him.
When Seeker first came to the U.S. as a puppy, he was extremely shy and fearful. It took a lot of love and
patience to get him to engage with the big, wide world. But he gradually increased in confidence and
was successfully placed in a home where he received the attention and training he needed to succeed.
Unfortunately, the couple that owned Seeker went their separate ways a year after he came to their
home. During an extended period of separation from his primary owner, Seeker was involved in a
resource guarding episode that resulted in him using his teeth. Unfortunately, it was also at this time that Seeker was placed on an e-collar. Seeker is a sensitive dog and he doesn’t need to be e-collar trained, he does however need a routined and stable environment.
By the time he and his owner were reunited months later, Seeker had regressed into some of his vigilant
and fearful ways. Meanwhile, his owner’s work and travel situations had changed, and he was no longer
able to provide Seeker with the consistent, predictable routine that Seeker needs to be at his best.
Seeker will thrive in a home with routined stability. He will be best in a home with a confident human companion who is is able to establish rules and routines. Seeker is very sensitive to his environment and can be triggered by noises, unfamiliar people and animals, or disruptions to established routines. A tranquil environment with secure outdoor space to play and explore would be ideal for Seeker. Although, he was fostered in 2020 and trained while he was in a rowhome in Federal Hill, Baltimore. Seeker actually did well going on walks with his foster and her dogs there. He does play with other dogs and actually enjoys them.
Seeker is not recommended for placement in a home with small children or where there is a lot of noise or surprises that will trigger his anxious tendencies. He has done very well with other dogs, but
placements of this type should have a prior visit to test compatibility.
Seeker is up to date on his shots. If you are able to provide a home whether temporary or permanent for Seeker, please DM me. His rehoming situation is pretty urgent unfortunately.
Sidenote: I was his foster in 2020. He did well with me. I wish I could take him back. However, I have a shoulder surgery coming up in June and will not be able to take him in as a foster. Is there someone who is willing to foster him and give him the love and attention he needs?
Looking for foster/adopter in MD/DC/VA/PA areas. But if you are the right fit, we can look outside of these areas as well.
