October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month 🐾❀️
It’s a reminder that millions of loving dogs in shelters are waiting for a second chance at a forever home. Adopting doesn’t just change one life, it changes two.

A simple fact: In the U.S., millions of dogs enter shelters each year, and adoption helps reduce overcrowding while giving these animals the love and stability they deserve.

With trick-or-treaters on the way, this week’s is all about helping your dog handle the doorbell chaos.

Practice the doorbell sound in short, calm sessions before the big night.
Give your dog a safe space away from the front door if they get overstimulated.
Reward calm behavior when the bell rings, not just after they settle.
Consider a leash or baby gate if your dog tends to bolt for the door.

A little prep now means a much calmer Halloween night.

How does your dog usually react to the doorbell?

πŸΎπŸ–€ Today is National Black Dog Day! πŸ–€πŸΎ

Today we’re giving some extra love to the sleek, sweet, and seriously underrated black pups, including a special shoutout to our very own mascot! 🐢✨

Did you know? πŸ•
There’s a long-standing misconception known as β€œBlack Dog Syndrome,” where black dogs are often overlooked in shelters. Whether it’s due to outdated myths or the way darker coats photograph, these amazing dogs can take longer to find homes.

But anyone who knows them knows the truth, black dogs are just as loving, loyal, and full of personality as any other pup. πŸ–€

Every dog deserves a loving, furever home. πŸ‘πŸ’•

Drop a photo of your favorite black dog in the comments so we can celebrate them together!

Fall harvest is here β€” and that means carrots are in season! Not only are they a crunchy, low-calorie snack your pup will love, but they also pack some powerful health benefits. πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

Carrots contain polyacetylenes, which help detoxify cancer-causing substances β€” like mold (aflatoxins) β€” that pets may encounter. A recent University of Delaware study found that apiaceous veggies, including carrots, can even help mitigate the effects of air pollutants in our dogs’ bodies. So next time you’re enjoying the flavors of fall, don’t forget to share a little carrot love with your four-legged friend!

Pumpkin spice season is here, and yes, your dog can get in on it too (safely).
Plain, canned pumpkin (not pie filling) is packed with fiber and can be a great addition to your dog's diet in small amounts. It's also a favorite mix-in for enrichment treats and frozen pup cups.
A few reminders:
Skip the spices, sugar and pie filling.
Introduce it slowly.
A little goes a long way.
Always check with your vet if your dog has dietary sensitivities.
Will your dog be trying a pumpkin treat this season???πŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒ
