🍂 October Grooming Fun Fact: Your dog’s coat knows the seasons are changing even if the weather in Georgia hasn’t gotten the memo yet!

As the days get shorter and temperatures eventually start cooling down, many dogs begin transitioning from their summer coat to a thicker winter coat. That means you may notice a little more fluff floating around the house, collecting on your clothes, or somehow ending up in places your dog has never even been. 😂

Regular grooming during the fall helps remove that loose coat before it turns into tangles and matting, while also keeping the skin and coat clean and healthy. And if you’re planning to let your pup stay a little fluffier for the cooler months, remember: More fluff usually means more brushing, not fewer grooming appointments!

So, if your vacuum is starting to look like it deserves employee of the month status, your pup may just be getting their fall wardrobe ready. 🍁🐾

Small towns are great for a lot of things friendly faces, familiar pups, and news that somehow makes it across town before you do. 😂

So, we figured we’d clear this one up before the Ball Ground rumor mill adds another chapter:

We are NOT closing.

In fact, we’re here, we’re busy, and we’re not going anywhere.

With nearly 40 years of dedicated service, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to build something that has lasted because of the trust and loyalty of the families who continue to walk through our doors.

We think some of the confusion may be coming from the recent news about our good friends at Ball Ground Hounds. With two local pet businesses right here in our little town, we can certainly understand how wires may have gotten crossed.

When we learned that Ball Ground Hounds would be closing, we even offered to share our space with them so they could continue operating their pet store. They ultimately chose not to, and we respected that decision.

Unfortunately, we’ve since heard some confusion circulating that we may be closing as well — so consider this our official correction straight from the source:

No closing. No going out of business. No farewell tour. No “everything must go” sign.

We’re still right here in Ball Ground, doing what we’ve been doing for decades: loving on your pups, working hard, and being incredibly grateful for the Paw Pack that has supported this business year after year.

Rumors may travel fast in a small town…

but we plan on being here long after this one runs out of gas.🐾

Our Paw Pack Scarecrow has officially made its way downtown and is standing proudly in front of the shop, but we think it’s missing something… YOUR pups! 🐾

We’re inviting our Paw Pack families and friends to stop by the shop and decorate a bone with your pet’s name. We’ll be adding the bones to the scarecrow display!

And if you’re strolling through downtown, be sure to stop by and check out the finished display as it grows!

This is our way of giving the Paw Pack a spotlight on Main Street. After all, what would our shop be without the pups who keep us busy, smiling, and covered in dog hair?

Well, y’all… we found him. 🐻

After all the talk about the bear wandering around downtown Ball Ground, apparently he decided to take a little break from all the excitement and stop in for a spa day. 😂 He came in looking suspiciously fluffy, requested a nice bath, a littler pampering, and thankfully caused absolutely no problems during his appointment.

No wildlife officials were needed.
No trash cans were harmed.
Treats WERE demanded.

And the “bear” left fresh, fluffy, and ready for his next stroll through downtown. Thank you Rachel for letting us love on your baby!

Disclaimer: No actual bears were groomed in the making of this video. We’re good, but we’re not that good. 😂

It has happened. The search is over. The gates are closing.

THE FIFTH AND FINAL GOLDEN TICKET HAS BEEN FOUND.

And no, it wasn’t Charlie Bucket.

It was ROSIE. 🐾

Miss Rosie strolled in, found that last Golden Ticket, and secured herself a spot in the Paw Pack before the rest of the neighborhood dogs even knew what happened.

Rumor has it she’s already requested a tour of the chocolate factory, unlimited treats, and an Oompa Loompa assigned specifically to belly scratches. We had to explain that this is a grooming salon and not in fact W***y Wonka’s factory…but she’s choosing not to accept that information at this time.

With Rosie claiming our FINAL opening, all five Golden Tickets are officially GONE, and our books are once again full!

We were absolutely blown away by the response to our Golden Ticket openings!
Unfortunately, our groomer only has two hands, Monday through Friday only contains so many grooming hours, and HR has officially denied our proposal to have the staff simply live here.

Something about “work-life balance.” 🙄

So, for now, the Paw Pack is at capacity!

If you didn’t find a Golden Ticket this time, don’t start licking the wallpaper looking for one just yet. 😂 Get your name on our waiting list, because you never know when W***y Wonka I mean, we might decide to crack those gates open again.

And to our final Golden Ticket winner…

ROSIE, COME ON DOWN! 🐾

You found the last ticket, secured your recurring spot, and officially became part of the Paw Pack family.

Now somebody please tell Rosie there is absolutely NO chocolate river in the back grooming room.

She keeps asking.

WELCOME TO THE PAW PACK, ROSIE! 🐾

P.S. No pups were turned into blueberries during this promotion. We consider that a success.

We’re doing something we don’t get to do very often… we’re opening our books to FIVE new families!

We’re usually booked out a year or more, so getting one of these spots is basically like finding a golden ticket… except instead of chocolate, you get a freshly groomed, happy, fluffy pup! And here’s the best part once you’re in, you’re family.

Our Paw Pack families aren’t just another appointment on the calendar. We get to know your dogs, their personalities, their quirks, their favorite treats, and yes… even the ones who like to pretend they’ve never seen a grooming table before in their lives.

When you join the Paw Pack, you’ll also be placed on a recurring grooming schedule, so you don’t have to worry about scrambling for an appointment every time your pup needs a spa day. Your pup will have a regular spot reserved on our schedule, helping keep them looking, feeling, and smelling their best all year long.

We keep our books intentionally limited so we can give each family and each pup the time, care, and attention they deserve. Because of that, opportunities to join our Paw Pack are few and far between.

Once these 5 spots are filled, our books will close again and it’s back to the waiting list so message us quickly!

Fall is right around the corner, which means cooler weather, changing leaves, longer walks, and plenty of time for our pups to enjoy the outdoors. Unfortunately, it also means the fleas are still out looking for their next ride!

Fleas are basically the unwanted hitchhikers of the pet world. They don’t ask permission, they don’t pay for gas, and once they get comfortable, they have a habit of inviting all their friends along for the ride. Before you know it, what started as one tiny hitchhiker has turned into a full-blown family reunion!

As we head into the fall season, be sure to keep your pet’s flea and tick prevention up to date. Even with cooler temperatures on the way, fleas can still be active and can quickly become a problem for both your pet and your home.

If we notice fleas during your pup’s grooming appointment, we’ll always let you know. We want your pet to leave feeling clean, comfortable, and fresh without taking a few unwanted passengers' home with them.

So, as you get your pup ready for fall, remember we’re happy to handle the bath, the haircut, and the fresh new look. Just please leave the family reunion at home!
