BCAS is a county operated, taxpayer funded open admissions kill facility.
This page is not operated by the county or volunteers at BCAS. Our goal here is to bring exposure to the many wonderful animals at the shelter in need of homes or rescue. If you have an interest in adopting any animal, you must go to the shelter. Shelter staff will not recognize the names of animals, you must refer to their impound number as this is what the staff uses to identify the animals.
BCAS refuses to acknowledge TNR is a humane way to maintain the feral cat population in Baltimore County. Any ferals that are trapped and taken to the shelter are held the stray time of four working days then euthanized. If you manage a feral colony in Baltimore County and are missing one, please contact the shelter immediately. Ferals can be redeemed for a redemption fee. And please consider microchipping your ferals.
With the shelter being closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for adoptions, if you're searching for a lost pet you can visit the shelter to look for it and file a lost report while there. Do not just rely on calling the shelter, it's always best to go there.
