Molly, a one-year-old yellow Lab, did a great job with her handoff to her owner on the final day of training as she completed our four-week Headstart Program.

Over the past month, Molly has built a solid foundation in obedience, learned the basics of hunting, and gained confidence through bird and gun introduction. We look forward to watching her continue to develop with her family. Congratulations, Molly! 🐾

Roading season has already begun as we start getting the crew into condition for the upcoming hunting season. Bliss and Penny enjoyed an evening run, building strength, endurance, and the fitness they’ll need for fall adventures.

“Hi Jason- Roxy is fitting right in! She is sweet and spunky and is trying her best to befriend our two cats. She liked camping, too!”

Roxy is doing great with her new family! She’s from our recent litter by Ari and Lexi.

Chance, a two-year-old English Setter, practicing honoring with the Auto Backer as he prepares for fall AKC Hunt Tests. Honoring is an important skill for advanced hunting dogs, teaching them to remain steady when another dog is on point. Chance is making great progress and gaining the experience needed for a successful hunt test season ahead.

George working through advanced training, developing steadiness to wing and shot, reliable retrieves to hand, and honoring another dog’s point. He continues to make steady progress in all areas, and as his honoring comes together, we’re hopeful he’ll be ready to run in AKC Senior level Hunt Tests this fall. It’s been rewarding to watch his confidence and consistency grow.

Remi and Aspen, a pair of English Pointers, spent some time with us for a refresher while their family was on vacation. We reviewed their obedience training and worked on reinforcing their steadiness on point. Both dogs picked things up quickly and did a nice job settling back into their training routine. It was great to have them back!

Riot, an 11 week old female by Trygg and Sage, showing her natural talent after being on just a few quail. Two key things are already happening here: she’s learning to use her nose to identify and define bird scent, and her natural pointing instinct is beginning to develop. It’s always rewarding to watch these early pieces come together in a young pup.

Athena and Dot, the German Shorthaired Pointer sisters, are coming along nicely, and Freya, the German Wirehaired Pointer, is showing great progress as well. Fun group of young dogs with bright futures ahead.
