Fun Fact of the Day About Cats: Cats actually only meow to communicate with humans not with each other. They communicate with each other by body language, and smelling of each other, and to show anger they may hiss at each other, but meowing is just for us! Do you know what certain meows mean from your cat(s)? I know the "I am hungry, feed me now servant!" I know the affectionate meow probably meaning I love you, because I usually get a headbutt to my own head and/or face. Do you meow back to your cat? Or just answer their meows with your normal human voice? I do both, and sometimes when I meow back at them, and they look at me all weird, and I just can't help, but to wonder what did I say just then??? 😆😅😂🤣😹😸 for sure lol

Posting a bit late, but I still wanted to show off my #1 girl, Luna, who is a 10 year old proud black cat! She knows she is nothing, but good luck! She would like everyone to know that in China black cats are consider to be lucky especially in the way of sending money their owner's way! She would like everyone to also know that black kittens and cats are usually the last choice in being adopted due to stigma and myths that are untrue. She wants to flip the narrative so future generations will not continue to say such superstitions. That way others like her will be considered the same as everyone else regardless of the color of her fur. She is the most independent cat I have ever owned. She loves the outdoors, and has her very own treehouse to call her own. She has protected it, and the area surrounding it her whole life so she will have to retire sometime, but I'm guessing thats gonna take a lot of bribes.

"I feed them but they're not my cats."

It's a statement we hear often from well-meaning caretakers who either don't have the means to fix the cats they feed or simply make the decision to spend their money elsewhere. Usually, we meet these caretakers when the colony has grown to the point of no longer being manageable for the caretaker -- or when the neighbors get annoyed and call animal control.

Resources for low-cost or no-cost TNR (spay/neuter, ear tip and vaccines) are available in most areas. You just need to look for them. To start, go to the pinned post at the top of our FB page to search for resources near you.

If you're feeding cats and don't have the means or ability to fix your colony of one of dozens, don't be shy about contacting a TNR group or no-kill rescue near you. We're working to solve the community cat problem and -- speaking for Stray Cat Project -- will be happy to hear from you, thrilled that you've asked for help and eager to help the kitties that you're feeding.

TNR groups love partnering with community cat caretakers -- whether the colony is fed at a residence or on public property. Let us help you. ❤️ If you feed it, you must fix it. ❤️ That doesn't mean you have to go bankrupt doing it. Don't be afraid to ask for help!
