Our bighorn sheep are back on habitat!
Following a temporary exhibit closure due to rain damage, our bighorn sheep have officially returned to a modified section of their habitat. While extensive restoration work is still ahead, our teams have created a safe space that allows the sheep to enjoy the habitat while long-term repairs continue.
The storm damage impacted several areas of the habitat, and restoration efforts over the coming months will include rebuilding damaged terrain, addressing erosion concerns, restoring vegetation, and making additional infrastructure improvements. We appreciate your patience as this important work continues.
We want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible Maintenance & Operations Team and Animal Care Team for their hard work, dedication, and collaboration. Their efforts made it possible to safely reopen a portion of the habitat and welcome the sheep back outside while the next phase of repairs gets underway.
Be sure to stop by and visit our bighorn sheep, Diane, Sierra, and Emma during your next trip to CALM Zoo!
