10/8 - Adopted 🥰
ADOPTER NEEDED AT TULARE COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES 😍
" Hi! I am Isla.
I am a beautiful Cane Corso mix. I say “mix” because I am majestic and strong like a Cane Corso, just not quite as big. At least not in physical size (only 60 lbs). My heart is pure and huge. Oh…and so are my paws. 😄
I am believed to be around 2 years old, and I most likely had some puppies.
I like puppies (and dogs), but I LOVE hoomans! 💕 I want to meet every hooman that comes my way, and if they agree to meet me, too, I wiggle my head really close to them so they can love me up. Then they tell me how cute I am and how soft my ears are. And that makes my half-tail wiggle.
I know how to sit and will shake your hand with my big paws. Sometimes I wonder why hoomans have such a hard time making up their minds. They ask me to shake, and I give them my paw. Then they want the other paw. (I’m not sure what was wrong with the first one, but fine.) But after I offer the other paw, they want the first paw back. Maybe they are bamboozled, or they have a really hard time deciding. I don’t know. But I’ll give paws until I run out of paws or until they finally hand over that treat-o. I love treat-os.
I take them from the hooman’s hand very gently because it makes them happy. Then they tell me whatta-good-girl I am, and then they give me more treat-os (if all goes to plan).
Yesterday, I got to walk in a neighborhood park that I had never been to. Just getting there was amazing. We walked by houses, and every house had a lawn. They all smelled similar, but not the same. So I had to try EVERY LAWN to see which grass felt best on my back and belly. I rolled and rolled and rolled. Fescue, Bermuda, clover, St. Augustine…you name it. I roll on it. And I love it.
After the neighborhood sniffari, we went to a house. It was the house of the hooman and her dog who picked me up for an adventure today. I was very polite inside the house. After chilling for a bit and totally enjoying a chewy, I had the urge to go potty. So I went to the door to let the hoomans know that this girl had to go. They are smart hoomans and let me into the yard, where I followed my nose to the spot where the hoomans like doggies to p*e. So I did. And they were very pleased.
I got to play with their dog, Kiitos. I had a great time playing chase and doing zoomies! He got into the pool… but I’m not too sure of the water. Besides we had other plans…
Next, I found myself on Main Street, where I met many nice people just walking up and down and later on at Barrel House. They told me how gorgeous I was, and since the dog I was with didn’t want anything to do with these wonderful hoomans, I got all the loves and snuggles.
And the treats. 😬 Score!
I really enjoyed going to the brewery, and I was told I was really well behaved. Whatever that means. I was, I mean…I was just me. Cute, cuddly, and loving Isla with big floppy ears and paws.
I can’t wait to find a hooman (or family) I can call my own. I’d love to join you on outings to dog-friendly places and be your forever companion and snuggle bug.
