❤️ Beat the Heat with Angus's Love Pet Care Services
Because it is staying so hot lately—even into the evening hours—we are temporarily pivoting away from traditional neighborhood walks to prevent overheating and burnt paws.
At Angus's Love, we proudly care for ALL kinds of pets—cats, dogs, birds, fish, and more! No matter who is in your home, our drop-in visits are fully customizable to keep all your animals safe, healthy, and happy in the comfort of the air conditioning:
☀️ Quick Potty Breaks: Strict grass-only time for dogs to do their business without overheating.
💧 Fresh Food & Water: Keeping bowls clean, cold, and fully topped off for everyone from cats to dogs to birds and anything in between.
🐠 Tank & Enclosure Checks: Making sure your fish, birds, and small pets are comfortable and their environments stay stable in the summer heat.
💊 Medication Administration: Timely and precise medical care when your pets need it most.
🧸 Indoor Love & Cuddles: High-energy indoor playtime, mental stimulation, and tons of affection for all your furry, feathered, or scaled friends!
Your pets' safety and well-being are our absolute priorities. Thank you for trusting us to keep the whole family safe, cool, and loved! 🐾

🚨 PAW ALERT: How Hot is Too Hot? 🚨
With temperatures climbing, we want to share some vital safety numbers to keep our furry family members safe. Dogs experience heat entirely differently than we do, and what feels like a warm day to us can quickly become a medical emergency for them.
Here is what you need to know about pavement temperatures and how we adjust our care during high-heat days to protect your pets.
☀️ The Asphalt Heat Index
Asphalt acts like a giant heating pad—it absorbs solar radiation and traps it, keeping the surface scorching hot even well into the evening hours.
When it’s 85°F out... The asphalt can spike to 130°F to 135°F.
When it’s 106°F out... The asphalt can skyrocket to a staggering 170°F in direct sunlight.
🐾 The 7-Second Rule: Press the back of your hand firmly to the pavement for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for you, it is far too hot for your dog's paw pads! Paw tissue damage can happen in less than 60 seconds at 125°F.
🛑 When is it Time to Stay Indoors?
Because dogs can't sweat like humans—relying mostly on panting to cool down—they can succumb to heatstroke incredibly fast.
🐕 Standard Pups
80°F – 85°F (Caution Zone): Stick strictly to the grass, keep outdoor time very brief, and maximize shade.
85°F and Above (Inside Only): All traditional outdoor walks should be suspended. Outdoor time should be limited strictly to quick potty breaks on the grass before heading straight back to the A/C.
🦮 Brachycephalic Breeds (Smooshy-Faced Pups)
Breeds with shortened airways—like Boxers, Mastiffs, Pugs, Frenchies, and Bulldogs—have a severely compromised cooling system. They cannot pant efficiently enough to cool themselves down.
70°F – 75°F (Caution Zone): Limit intense play and monitor closely.
75°F and Above (Inside Only): For a flat-faced dog, 75°F to 80°F can quickly become life-threatening. They need to stay in a cool, air-conditioned environment.

As of today, I am on week 2 of the healing process. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and checked up on me. I really appreciate it. Healing is going well, things look good. I am working towards getting back on track and taking care of pups.

And it's a go! June 5th, I will finally be having surgery, which will officially put me out for 2 months from that point. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I am so grateful for all of you and your support.
