Happy Frenchie Friday! Our featured frenchie of the week is……WINSTON!
Winston was born here at Ravensduke on 10/29/2020.. His mom was the lovely Rosie and his sire was Rider of Emerald Coast Frenchies. Winston is a fawn frenchie with a black mask; one of the most popular colors for frenchies. But his most enduring attribute is his personality. Winston is absolutely EVERYTHING a frenchie should be. He is the best ambassador for the breed I have ever met! Winston was placed as a pup but when his owner suffered some medical complications, Winston returned to Ravensduke when he was a year old. We are so profoundly blessed to be sharing our lives with this amazing boy. There is never a dull day with Winston. He is vocal, he snores and he has peed on the baby grand more than once, but he is the epitome of a Ravensduke dog and we love him.

It is HOT outside!! It is imperative that frenchies stay cool during hot weather! Frenchies are a Bully breed and can easily overheat as their body temp is higher than non-bully breeds. Moreover, their short muzzle makes it more difficult for them to cool off when panting. I recommend using Cool Coats to keep your frenchie cool. Just soak the coat in cool (not cold) water and allow the gel filled sacks to absorb water. Then put on your dog. The gel will help keep your dog cool when walking, exercising (don’t exercise in hot weather) or traveling.

Happy Frenchie Friday! This week’s Featured Frenchie is Leta! Leta was born on 8/21/21. She was born from a breeding of a lilac brindle that we bred and co owned and a lilac male owned by the co owner. Leta is a lilac brindle with beautiful green eyes one of which is sectoral heterochromia (one side of her iris is light green and the other half is dark green). Leta is a comical girl who loves her bouncy chair and comfortable beds. She is stubborn but so lovable. She does not like a lot of cuddles and tends to be more independent but loves attention on her terms. I decided Leta was not a good breeding candidate so she has been fixed. Her best friend is Willa and she won’t go to recess without her BFF.

Happy Frenchie Friday!
Today’s Featured Frenchie is Smokey
Smokey’s Story:

Smokey is our senior-dog-in-charge and commands respect. Smokey was born 9/7/2018 here at Ravensduke Cottage. His dam was Lola, a female I imported from Serbia. His sire was a stellar male, Theo who was from a local breeder. There were 9 pups in this litter.
At 9 weeks, Smokey was placed in a home but after 6 months things were not working out. Smokey returned to Ravensduke with a highly stressed and dis-regulated nervous system. Although it took many months, Smokey made tremendous progress. Now, although he still resource guards, Smokey is quite the gentleman. He is funny and approachable and loves to get smooches each and every morning! Smokey will be 8 this year but has no health issues and is active and happy!
Smokey is a sable French Bulldog with a black mask. He has a marvelous head with perfect ear set and his conformation is aligned with the AKC standard in every way.
