Yesterday, we held our September monthly meeting.

Before the meeting, our chapter officers put on a great interactive workshop on leadership skills for younger members.

Then the meeting itself had 40 people in attendance! We’re not positive, but we think that might be a Bainville record.

What a way to kick off the year!

At the meeting, we established practice times for CDEs, which will start next Tuesday.

Tomorrow evening, we will have our first chapter meeting of the school year!

All 7-12 Ag-Ed students are invited. There may even be a POINT(s) to going.

We will have a leadership workshop presented by chapter officers starting at 6:30 PM, followed by our chapter meeting at 7:00.

Students, see you there!

We have some exciting news to share from National FFA!

First, our National Chapter Award application was rated as a 1-star entry. This places our little chapter in the top 10% nationwide! Great job by Addison Hansen on developing our chapter’s application.

Secondly, we are now able to share that Bainville gets to add the 16th, 17th, and 18th names to its list of American Degree recipients this year. Hallie Iverson, Tally Berwick, and Elsie Wilson each had their applications approved for this prestigious honor. The American Degree is earned by less than 1% of FFA members so great job by all three of these young women on earning this distinction!

Last week, we were thankful that our entire chapter officer team was able to attend our annual retreat in the Yellowstone area.

These chapter leaders didn’t let intermittent storms keep them from having a great time as we toured Yellowstone Park, soaked in the hot springs, viewed wildlife, enjoyed the river, and played lots of games.

But they also worked hard, building out the chapter’s Program of Activities for the year, setting goals, building leadership skills, using teamwork, revising the chapter’s Program Constitution, and more executive planning that they’re excited to share with the rest of the chapter!

Our group got to enjoy such a cool experience this morning! After a capitol tour with a couple of staffers from Senator Sheehy's office, we got to meet with Senators Daines and Collins in the historic Mansfield Room, named after the longest-serving Senate Majority Leader in history (from MT).

This is in a part of the capitol building that most visitors do not get to see, but Senator Daines took time out of his "Bill-o-rama" day to meet with us. We're very grateful for this experience!

We also saw several other Senators during our time on the hill this morning.

We made it to Washington! Now we’ll spend the day touring DC until the conference starts.

As Homer Simpson might say “It’s the hottest day of the year ☝️ SO FAR.”

But 8 of our members (plus a couple of guests) didn’t let that slow them down from putting in community service hours this afternoon.

Kaston, Azure, Rylan, Scarlet, Logan, Adyson, Lane, and Parker loaded, hauled up the hill, mixed, and applied more than 20 gallons of paint to give the town’s “B” a fresh coat. We think it looks great!

We’ve got merch!

Trucker hats are available for sale now. $20 each. We can take cash or check to Bainville FFA. At this time, we aren’t able to ship.

Thanks to our treasurer Logan for pressing the majority of these hats!

Note: due to inconsistency with the patches, the color of lettering (blue->silver->black) shows some variation from hat to hat.
