• A non-refundable down payment is required to reserve a Hedgehog.

Policies & Adoption Information
Please note: by making a down payment and/or adopting from Cactus Hedgehogs, you are agreeing to the following:

Pickup/Delivery
• I offer pickup in Sidney, NY at my home. Pickup location will be provided when the animal is ready to go home; I do not post my address on the page or give it out prior to contract, as it is my home and I may decide to meet at

my local Walgreens or price chopper
• Pick ups are by appointment only. If you are more than 15 minutes early or late, please contact me before coming to ensure I can accommodate you.
• Airline shipping is not available. Down payments go towards the total purchase price and the remaining balance is due prior, or at pickup.
• Once a down payment is made, a confirmation email will be sent.
• You will be required to fill out a very basic questionnaire about how you will care for your pet.
• Before pickup you will need to fill out an adoption/no breeding contract.
• The balance due is required to be paid before or at the time of pick up. Pets will not be released without payment in full.
• At pick up I accept Venmo, Cash app, Facebook pay, PayPal or Cash. I am not responsible for payments sent to the wrong account. No checks or credit card orders are accepted.
• Babies cannot be reserved without a down payment.
• The posted date of when a baby can go home is approximate. It can change to be either earlier or later, depending on a variety of factors used to determine if a baby is old enough to wean from its mother. After being weaned the baby is monitored and must be drinking and eating well on its own before I will allow it to leave to a new home. Any changes in date will be sent through facebook.
• Our animals are sold as pets only and breeding is prohibited.
• I do not sell opposite sexes to anyone, including you and your friend, brother, sister, roommate, etc.
• Color is not guaranteed.
• Cactus Hedgehogs reserves the right to refuse to sell to anyone at anytime for any reason, even after a down payment has been made.
• I do not sell hedgehogs to illegal states and counties.

Care Packages for Pickup
Hedgehogs will go home with some of bedding that has been already used in a cardboard box, with a sample of the food he/she is currently on. This food should be mixed half and half with what you are going to be using to feed until the sample is gone.

Cages & Accessories
Cactus Hedgehogs offers habitat kits at very affordable prices. Money due with down payment. If you don't purchase your supplies from us, we ask that you talk to us about your habitat and accessories before you pickup to ensure that you will have the appropriate environment for your pet.

Refunds, Returns & Rescues
• Cactus Hedgehogs will take any hedgehog back at any time, but no refund will be given after 2 weeks. There are also no refunds on cage setups or cage accessories.
• If at any time you decide a hedgehog is not the right pet for you or circumstances change, the animal must be returned to us at buyers expense/time.

Cactus Hedgehogs Terms & Policies

Communication & Forfeiture
• Failure to respond to emails, texts, or messages regarding pickup, no-shows, or cancellations within 14 days of the scheduled pickup date will result in automatic forfeiture of any down payment.

Pet-Only & Breeding Policy
• All animals are sold as pets only. Breeding is strictly prohibited.
• Cactus Hedgehogs does not sell opposite-sex animals to the same household or related parties, including friends, siblings, roommates, or other associates.

Reservations & Down Payments
• A non-refundable down payment is required to reserve a pet or to be placed on the future baby waiting list.
• Down payments are applied toward the total purchase price.
• The remaining balance is due prior to or at pickup.
• Pets will not be released until payment is made in full.

Adoption Requirements
• Adopters are required to complete a basic adoption form outlining how the pet will be cared for.
• A non-breeding contract must be completed and signed prior to pickup.

Payment Methods
• Accepted forms of payment at pickup include cash, Venmo, or Facebook Pay.
• Cactus Hedgehogs is not responsible for payments sent to the incorrect account.
• Checks and money orders are not accepted.
• Payment plans may be available; however, animals must be paid in full before pickup.

Pickup Timing
• The posted “go-home” date for babies is approximate and may change.
• Dates may shift earlier or later depending on weaning readiness, health, and development.
• After weaning, babies are monitored to ensure they are eating and drinking independently before being released.
• Any changes to pickup dates will be communicated via the adopter’s preferred contact method.
• If I am meeting you or transporting your hedgehog; If you are over 15min late and there is NO COMMUNICATION I will leave and you will not get your hedgehog or refund.

Photos & Appearance
• If a specific hedgehog is reserved, the adopter will receive the hedgehog shown in the photo.
• Exact coloration is not guaranteed, as hedgehogs may change slightly in color during growth and quilling.

Right to Refuse Sale
• Cactus Hedgehogs reserves the right to refuse a sale to anyone at any time, for any reason, even after a down payment has been made.

Legal Restrictions
• Cactus Hedgehogs does not sell hedgehogs to illegal states, boroughs, or counties.
